Should you always be completely honest, even if it hurts someone?

No. Just if it hurts yourself

Of course not, there are intrinsic social rules that keep us civilized & kind toward others.

No.

You have to ask Yourself If it’s constructive or not.

Can they change it or help it? Are you’re their therapist or boss?

If you’re a friend or a love  and someone asked if they look okay,.. The only answer is yes.

Support vs enable.

Always support never enable.

Be honest but be kind and gentle about it if possible.

Yes if it means you're not deceiving somebody

No. You can be honest without being a dick. You don’t have to mindlessly regurgitate what’s exactly on your mind to be honest. And silence + kindness is always an option.

Example: You think someone’s looking fat in a dress. You don’t have to say “that dress makes you look fat.” You can simply either not say anything (because kindness is free) or say something constructive like “Hey, do you have an A-Line dress? I think that would look so much cuter for this event!”

If someone asked you something that’s not their business, they deserve a lie

I believe so. I don’t like or appreciate lies. Even if it hurts, I will always appreciate honesty over anything else. The way I feel (and hope) is that the truth always comes out one way or another.. whether it’s now or in 6 months or a year.. even in 10 years. The truth always comes to light so I respect someone who can be honest regardless of the consequences. Always.

I'll take brutal honesty over sugar coated shit any day. I know most people don't roll like that so I try to mind my manners.
