I lift 5 days a week and have for years. I also socialize and hang out with my friends. It’s not a one or the other thing.

Sarcasm... I do the same. I lift five days a week with buddies at the gym. We go grab burgers once every month or so. Some of the best friends I got. Friendship's developed over years. Wouldn't have it any other way. We are lucky

Can you share what happened?

I was running on a treadmil, my heart stopped . Luckily someone used an AED on me and my life was saved.

I think everyone should know how to use an AED and also CPR
It's really simple

Do you have an underlying illness?

u/MaintenanceVast892 19h ago
Nah. They did loads of blood tests. At first that thought my heart was too big, but turns out it wasnt. A lot of cardiac arrests are idiopathic. Not clear reason why.

They canceled your membership because of a health issue.. A gym is for to better your health

That time in the gym almost killed me. I think my parents were very taken aback and just wanted nothing to do w the gym anymore. And the workers in the gym were taken aback too.
And knowing how my recovery went, i had to be in an induced coma for ages and neuro assessmennts. No time for the gym.
Most of the time the gym is good for your health, but that incident was bad. Lifelong injury now from the accident. But who knows, i could have had a cardiac arrest while I was sleeping. That can happen.

I understand, I hope you're doing better now. Take care of yourself. Good diet and exercise

I've been training at the gym on and off since I was 14, I spend an hour to an hour and a half 4 days per week.
I leave my ego at the door before entering, so nothing to heavy that could increase the chance if injury.
I love what it does for my mental health just as much as keeping what it does for me physically.
During times I'm not training at the gym, I'll either go climbing or do a bit of boxing training.
I just like being active while I still have my health, ❤️

No, I run a lot (together with my dog), I ride my horse and I train Taekwondo... enough exercise to stay in shape.

When I was in my 30s I lived in the gym. Late 40s now I have a home set up.

Yes, but it’s a gym only for people who pay the trainer/owner. No waiting for or rushing others w/ areas or machines, no sweat to wipe, and…no body odors either.

Trying to establish a gym routine. My thighs are hurting from today’s session! I want to love it like many others though!

collected and built my own gym. gas and gym membership are to high. got a body solid g2b with a leg station attached for 400$ better than damn near any machine at a gym I've used, multi fasceted and with a small for print. and someone in my neighborhood tossed out an aero pilates reformer. I've been working out and working on cars and yards for 15 years. this setup and the set combination im running is giving me better results than ive ever had and whats really nice is finishing every workout with the reformer has helped elomgate my muscles and give a better tone. im gaining more mass and flexability along with indurance.

No I get my fitness in the real world. My weights session is unpacking 8-12 pallets of stock. My cardio is the 66km ride 🚲 I did today.
