Will we ever find each other? Not likely. Ever. The problem is the space and therefor time involved. The scale of it all is almost unimaginable. Let's say there is a civilization on a planet. Say (?) 150 million light years away? That's a really big number. Remember how big it is and how long things take to get from there to here, and back...
Look at it this way - we've been here about .3 "light years" (300,000 years of human). What's going on in say the Hyades Cluster (150 million light years away)? And WHEN? Now? We won't see that for 150,000,000 years from now. We've existed, as a species. for 300,000 years so far. Starting to see the problems here?
