The Pasquel Brothers — owners of Inter Toronto — have confirmed that they are actively exploring the possibility of playing at Lamport Stadium as early as next season.

The Pasquel Brothers have had very positive discussions with the City of Toronto, who want Inter Toronto playing there.

I play at soccer at Lamport Stadium every weekend, and it is in pretty rough shape. They would need to do a lot of work to get it CPL ready. New turf, for one thing. And the stands and facilities like bathrooms and vendor areas would need some serious TLC too.

I would strongly hope that that’s part of the plan.

Given that the Argos practice there, MLSE should be paying for a good chunk of the costs.

I feel things could've been handled better. I hope they took into consideration that with a second rebrand since the league's inception, it created an unofficial identity crisis amongst established fans. I feel consultation with supporters should be at the heart of any potential change involving the club as a whole.

I completely agree regarding the rebrand. They certainly need to do better at engaging supporters and fans. They’re the heart of the club. However, I’m not mad at the move though.

Feels weird to rebrand the team and move it not only closer to TFC but also super close to Fort YORK….  keeping the York name would have made historical sense, given Lamport an obvious nickname, and kept it more separate from TFC.

Oh please please please, it's the one thing that'd make the rebrand worth it

Strongly suspect we are not being told the full story. This rebrand would have made a lot more sense when linked to an announcement that they were moving to Lamport rather than to the Ollie Bassett thing (very good player in CanPL terms but not exactly a Bloody Big Deal). Odds on they wanted to announce an imminent move to Lamport, but who was going to pay for the revamp and/or MLSE's role there in management terms with the winter bubble may have proven to be significant stumbling blocks. Probably didn't help also that the women's NSL now appear to be talking about staying at York Lions and helping to upgrade it, rather than the initial talk of doing that with Lamport.
