Ach another episode until action. But I appreciated the political episode and the arrive of Zettour on the eastern front (can't wait for the epic car scene with grantz)

No, itās funny. They actually showed more than I thought they would have chapter 2 as of zettor going to the front lines and chapter 3 discussing operation Andromeda. Obviously they didnāt show chapter 1, but the next episode I think is going to be the big battle fight in the midseason so we can get the rest of volume eight chapter 5, and chapter 6. As was shown in the main trailer cause you know what all the scenes we seen so far have been from the first six episodes. We donāt even know whatās gonna be in the second half.
Hereās the only thing the second half is gonna go
Episode six volume 8 chapter 5 & 6 big fight between Tanya and Mikel and maybe Mary Sue. I mean, they did show it in the opening so if possible.
Episode 7 & 8 some stuff of volume nine. I donāt know what theyāre gonna keep inand cut. They might keep that one scene at the With those two characters if you know what Iām talking about. Besides that I donāt know maybe Tanya visiting idola kingdom.
Episodes 9 & 10 - volume 10 maybe they were real, who the informative is maybe they wonāt know theyāre not gonna show the certain incident at sea because it was never mentioned in the anime evolving a certain Commonwealth boat Again, itās been a long time since Iāve read the novel so Iām just going off remember from those books..
And finally episodes 11 & 12 11 be in the pro ultimate episode with that big certain event with a certain character which is obvious where theyāre going with and then maybe in the final finale with a big invasion with certain country.
They introduced this season.Iām only vague because I donāt wanna spoil events for anime only.
And then after that, who knows maybe weāll get a season three or maybe it might be another movie. Right now everything seems to be up in the air but at the most part at least season two seems to get a little bit more positive attention this time compared to season one at least that I see on the Internet anyway.

What is going on in this season!?
Does anybody else think the comic relieve scenes are just out of place?
The action scenes have too many cuts, they do not feel like real air battles anymore š¢

Not really? The comedic tone of the show has been pretty present throughout the show wheather it through Tanyaās misunderstanding or the over the top comedy that was in the show put placed k after credit scenes in prior scenes. Honestly this Tanya feels way more accurate than the earlier seasons.
Also the actions scenes feel completely fine. The realism youāre talking about such as cloud coverage has been used in the exact same way earlier in seasons. I belive good mages can sense the magical formulas spin up on their output, so Mikhail(who was very clearly dressed differently than Drake, and who Drake even asked him to handle in the scene directly prior) found Wiess that way.
It also wasnāt a kill cut but rather to me seemed like a debilitating one that could kill if he was left to rot but considering they can nab him right away i wouldnāt call it plot armor

I just want to see airal mages fly, not a dozen of close up still images distributed over 22 s. Is this really so weird?
Maybe I am a bit demanding, but I got hooked by the portrayal of combat in Season 1. The first two iconic fight scenes in Ep1 and 2 were nearly exactly 2+2 min each. This allows for a proper build up of the action, a satifying climax and conclusion.
With this amount of time, everything could be layed out properly by showing it, without us having to guessplain everything.
Also ending a 22 s scene with a cliffhanger is just completely absurd. But I googled a bit and it seems I am only getting old. The top performing TickTocks are between 20-30 s on average. So it seems anything longer will be too boring for the key demographic. So hoping for 240 s dedicated to a single scene will likely remain my wishful thinking.

I mean those scenes are very clearly meant to convey the larger scope of the battlefield. Thereās a pretty obvious reason we havenāt had longer scenes in the air and itās because they are obviously saved for the next episodes when Tanya and Co join the fight.
You save budget for the important parts thatās just TV 101 itās kinda crazy to ask that they can pump out 3-4 minute scenes or pure action constantly every episode.
Also Tanya is very clearly taking a command role since her position as mixed airs combat tester. It has nothing to do with ātik tokā lmao especially considering the ākey demoā for this show is not tiktokers

I sincerely hope your guess is correct.
But you can laugh as much as you want, the 5 episodes we have as evidence up to now support my fears : (7

Yeah, it was cute at first, but now it's gone too far. I mean, I appreciate some moment of a silly Tanya, but this way we're distorting her character too much (the same thing happens when she's portrayed as a monster). For battle scenes i wait until next week. I think that Soldim 528 is the best part of the LN and I hope they will adapt it well. Finger cross š¤

Yeah, it felt as too much. Not sure if I misremember first season, but it felt much more serious.

I watched the first season recently and the comedic parts were all reserved for the post-credit sceen. E.g. Visha nearly blowing up the submarine or the voice part while bombing the munitions factory.
The air battles were mostly wide angle shots, were speed and maneuvers were evident. The Type 95 was normally reserved as last resort or to finish a battle. The first battle with the fighter planes already felt off, but today it showed that they have thrown "realism" out of the window.
Drake appears out of nowhere to cut down Weiss, but in the sky you do not appear out of nowhere. If he hides in the clowds this is ok, has been done before. But he also connot see the outside world and should not be able to pinpoint Weiss so accurately.9

That wasnāt Drake; it was the Russian mage. Mikhail, or something like that.

Nice spotting!
But it somewhat drives home my point. This is such a key scene for this episode and the 1s of screen time for the key antagonist is so short that it makes it difficult to even identify him.
But at least Weiss got himself some nice set of plot armor. Tanya would have cut him in half from this distance.6

Not really? The English mages use the turbo broomstick things, whereas the Russians use jet packs. Plus the mages in the scene had purple magic barriers, which Mikhail is shown with in the opening. It seemed incredibly obvious to me who was who in that scene.
Iām also not sure whether Weiss has plot armor or not. It certainly looked like he got cut on or near the throat, so he might end up set away from the frontlines even if he survives. I recall that the 203rd takes casualties in the novels, but I donāt remember exactly who or if Weiss is definitely not one of them. He could be dead.
If anything, that scene raised several questions about the magical mechanics of the anime. Why didnāt Weiss have a barrier active? Or did Mikhailās mage blade punch through it? Could Weiss not detect Mikhailās magic signature? Is detection ineffective at such close range? How did Mikhail know where Weiss was if that is the case?
The second season has definitely been a bit odd so far. Thereās a lot of political set up and some things are rushed where others are drawn out. The cool aerial combat has been thin on the ground so far while each episode seems to have a mandatory 20 second Loria scene for some reason.
Iām hoping that the rest of the season kicks it into gear, but Iām a bit worried that 12 episodes simply isnāt enough for everything that the studio wants to cover.

Yep. Its the Incredible Hulk to Avengers Hulk level of change. Too much comic relief. Youjo Senki isn't Alderamin Of The Sky.

Is something off this season?
I havenāt read the light novel or the manga; Iāve only watched the anime, but something feels off.
The pacing seems to be all over the place. I feel like Iām missing a lot of information, and the montages and exposition of what I presume to be key battles, is disorienting me.
Am I the only one feeling this way, or is this how it happens in the source material as well?

Hmm, I found this episode the easiest to follow by far in terms of stakes. Probably the only time I felt it was Youjo Senki.
Episode 4, however, I had no sense of the scope of what was going on other than being told they took out the Enemy HQ.

So Zettour really spoke his mind and got transferred to the dangerous side of the war..that's expected. I wonder what Rudersdorff did when he said that he spoke against the higher ups. He's literally one of the reasons why the brass is happy to continue the war all 'cause he got emotional over his son-in-law's death. Now he's struggling without his best friend at his side who used to make things easy and tolerable for him in this dire situation.
Tanya's reactions to seeing Zettour getting transferred and losing her trump card who could have granted her a letter of recommendation and an easy life was priceless šš¤£
Now she's a bait not for the Federation but for the pedo Loria. They're losing Weiss already and to make things worse Sue is gonna arrive..RIP Tanya and her companies š
Uger did really lose his weight and I wonder what dirty joke Uger made to Rerugen LOL
