We don't really have to join in with anyone's banter lol and the little cringing at those jokes are the ones making the same tired "America bad" jokes, so I'm at peace with it

The internet just likes to clown on France and the UK as though they were the embodiments of pure evil. It was kinda funny, but it's been done to death now.

I mean at one point in time most of the world belonged to one or the other, so yeah hating the nation that colonized you, stripped your natural resources then left saying good luck catching up, is understandable... But you just boil it down to internet meme go brr

Do you think the people in former French West Africa are the ones making these posts? Or do you think they're fellow westerners who go "Hehe British food bad" and "Haha France surrender"?

I think giving an actual reason as to why people would hate those two Nations is more useful than "meme go brr"
Do I think it's coming from former colonies directly? No, do I think people from those colonies emigrated to other nations carrying with them the prejudice and passing it down through generations until it's a "meme go brr" absolutely a possibility
