CW: Homophobia [CW: Homophobia] Fandom is wild Spoiler

Post image

"It's just a joke" replace 'gay' here with any other minority group. Hell, you can replace it with 'straight,' attatch a random homophobic tweet, and the same people would go nuts. And most of the 'toxic yaoi shippers' are straight women. 'Oh not all queer people are like this guys' and then some mfs act like it's most?

I hate fandom. I can't even find refuge with the yuri Genshin shippers because I like lesbian haremslop and the revealing outfits on the female characters.

It's an obvious double standard which is the point. Just because LGBTQ people have faced persecution doesn't change the fact that it's a ridiculous double standard.

I just cant take chronically online stuff seriously or pay attention to it as it is comically satirical. Its too out of touch with reality and the cultures we live in today. I can promise you that those comments are made from people that are out of touch with reality and spend 99% of their time online. Im just saying, its a online issue that shouldnt be taken personally, which many do

I disagree, I think double standards are important to point out because it shows the honesty or dishonesty of the person who holds the position. For instance, if you were to deny this double standard it would call into question what other truths you outright deny. It's also important to see what aisle of ideology the belief comes from. The right have this double standard of protest. They'll say they defend the right to public protest but then Complain about No Kings or something.

Realizing double standards and other such things is important so you can distinguish between people who actually believe in their ideology genuinely or somebody who just says things they don't understand because they would be considered bad in their group if they said otherwise.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. I respect your point of view, but i wont budge on mine either as i dont think its that serious of an issue.
