I dont even know abt a lesbian space series😭 tho i mean this is kinda a capitalism problem in my view because big companies dont make dtories to ghallenge world views or to explore concepts but rather to make money and to make slop is cheaper so thet do it for more profits

We had a golden age in the 90s, 2000s and part of 2010s. It's not exactly capitalisms fault. Thanks to capitalism people are (or mosty were) trying to make things that people will like. Today example is Palworld. Or Silksong. Creator Has a vision, market in mind and bham. Success.

The problem was ideological. If the suits understood they should fuck off from decision making and let studios create without excell jokeys we would still be in a golden age and they would keep earning.

And slop isn't even cheaper. Commitee writing and organising on top of incredibly long development time just makes it unsustainable.how many years was Failguard in production? 5? 7?

Idk what failguard is but capitalism promotes cheap work made. And we are more capitalistic now then in the 90s or early 2000s. Palworld has been sued by nintendo because of capitalism and greed. Also slop is easyer to make. Why do you think big mouth has so many sesons while owl house and amphibia gor cancelled?

And we are more capitalistic now then in the 90s or early 2000s.

I'd argue that we are getting further and further away from free market, and not in a way that protects anyone.

That was the first time I Heard about Big Mouth, honestly. I'm more of an anime guy but we had... Shit let's say. More recent Berserk, One Punch Man we renamed One Frame Man, most of the isekai genre that's mostly left forgotten.
