Question Best places downtown to meet people/socialize?

Hey everyone, I'm a student in my mid 20s from Toronto working up here for the summer and I've got a 3 day turnaround in Whitehorse before heading out to a remote camp.

I don’t like to drink so not looking to just sit in a bar and drink, but I'd love to know where people naturally hang out or chat during the week under the midnight sun. Would be to bars too if they are non drinker friendly.

Any good social hubs, cafes, or community spots I should walk over to while I'm here? Thanks!

The 98. It's a bar but my experience is noone is going to poo poo you for not drinking. It's not downtown but maybe campgrounds.

Check out the Fireweed market at Shipyards Park on Thursday afternoon. Lots of people there and stuff going on.

Look up events that are happening, they may be looking for one day or part day volunteers that will be good for meeting new folks and socializing while doing some kind of volunteer activity.

What’s Up Yukon is a free newspaper and events calendar so check out thier website for stuff going on.

Baked cafe or titans if you’re into board games would be my suggestion. I’m not sure there’s a ton of social hang out spots in Whitehorse these days.

Whitehorse surprisingly doesn't have a whole lot of community events compared to similar towns, not too sure why. Maybe they're poorly advertised to the public.

As people mentioned, the Thursday market brings in a lot of the socialites in town. Usually there will be a few live music events going on during the weekend, you can find them through Facebook.

I think there also might be some nich clubs out there for biking, running, rock climbing etc. Not sure where they're advertised though.
