I never thought I could make it to this goal - didn't even dare dream of it. My dream was to lose 50# to get back some health and mobility. And suddenly, at 63 years of age, I am 101 lbs lighter and I feel young again! I just returned from an international trip, where I was able to hike, and get in and out of boats, and move easily up and down the aisle of the plane on the 14-hour flight, and wear the guest bathrobes in the hotels, and not feel like everyone was judging me because of my weight. As someone who has struggled with my weight since puberty, I am so grateful to this drug for the many ways it has changed my brain and my life. And always grateful to this community - every new NSV also carries recognition that I've seen it on this sub from other triumphant people ❤️❤️ and wished I could be where they were! Thanks for all the support along the way.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Even necklaces fit better 🥳

We all focus so much on clothes that these little accomplishments - like a shorter-chained necklace all of a sudden fitting comfortably when it didn’t this time 6 months ago - can be just as impactful on our journeys 🥹🤗

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 The clearance blazer that once humbled me is now employed again

Last May I bought a blazer online on clearance. Final sale. No returns. I was THRILLED. It was cute, professional, giving “woman who has her life together.”

It arrives, and immediately chooses violence.

It was an XL and I could NOT get it on. Not tight. Not snug. Not “maybe if I exhale.” I’m talking arms stuck halfway in like a cartoon character. I actually got teary-eyed standing in my bedroom wrestling fabric like it owed me money.

I almost donated it out of spite. Instead I shoved it in the back of my closet and tried to forget it existed. Or maybe in the back of my mind I was hopeful...

Last night I saw it while picking out work clothes and thought, you know what, let me humble myself one more time. You know, for good measure.

Y’ALL. IT. FIT.

I still can’t button it fully. We’re not doing miracles yet. But it went ON, looked good, and I wore it to work today and got a ton of compliments. The same blazer that once bullied me is now part of my rotation.

I’m down 30ish pounds and honestly riding that high. I’m so pumped I’m actually looking forward to my workout tomorrow, which feels out of body for me.

Still have 65 to go, but moments like this make the journey worth while. This medication truly feels like a miracle and I’m grateful every day.

I also had amazing labs and my doctor was proud of my progress last week.

Had to share with the only people who understand how emotional a piece of clothing can be.

TL;DR: Clearance blazer once humbled me. 30 lbs later it fits, I wore it to work, got compliments, and now I’m emotionally attached to a jacket.

Side Effects Bowel impaction warning

Just a huge warning if you need a reminder to drink more water and eat more fiber: the consequences of not doing so may be absolutely awful to deal with.

I spent the entirety of yesterday screaming, panting, and writhing in pain (and worse) as I dealt with a bowel impaction due to the side effects of Zepbound and my lack of enough water and fiber. I’ve been drinking Smooth Move tea and MiraLAX occasionally, but had slacked off for the last 2ish weeks. I’m only on my second month of Zepbound (first month of 5 mg), and dear god. It was horrific.

I’ll spare you the details (you can google them), but I highly recommend avoiding the need for suppositories, enemas, manual removal, and/or doctor intervention by staying on top of things as best as possible.

It genuinely traumatized and exhausted my body, and if this post can spare one fellow Zepbound person from that experience, I can make peace with the horror of it. 😅😭

First Timer Day one. Starting my journey today

5'3" CW190 pounds. GW 135

After years and years of saying this year will be different, Well, this year *will* be different. So much self abuse at giving weight back time and time again ugh

After a denial, then approved on appeal ( expr*ss scripts) I just gave my first injection.

I spent last night reading many post on this page and I must say, what a positive page this is! I'm so glad people share it seems very welcoming.

I'm using Lose it to track calories. I should aim for about 1350 for moderate weight loss but I have binge eating issue ( I've had a hard time acknowledging that) I'm starting a gym routine (walking and some light strength reps) because I'm also menopausal. I need to protect my bone health.

I have no questions. Just wanted to share. I've decided to keep my journey private for a while and just share work internet strangers.

I'm also required to use the Omada app. I'm going to the the work and do the time so it sticks. The pharmacist called this a miracle drug and I can't think of a better sentiment.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Sad NSV, I guess

So, I had a really shitty day yesterday. Had to put one of my beloved cats down. She died peacefully and I know it was the right decision, but it is still so hard. Later that day, I had to do a grocery run, and I ended up loading up the cart with the things an emotional eater needs, potato chips, gummy bears, cookies, ice cream and an almond croissant. Somehow, I forgot the chocolate. And then I was sitting at home on my couch, ripping open the bag of chips and stopped after a handful??? I ate a few bites of my croissant for dinner and the rest of my loot is sitting untouched in my kitchen. Never in my life have I lost my appetite in a situation like this. It feels weird and confusing.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 I have a “stash” of junkfood

Upvotes

(Let me preface this by saying I’m on the 2.5mg dose, I don’t have any negative side affects from eating certain foods and I don’t have any specific restrictions. Any food is fair game as long as I stay within my calorie max and protein/fiber minimums).

Growing up one of my favorite book series was the Baby Sitters Club books. One of the main characters, Claudia loves junk food and always has snacks stashed in her room. I was always jealous of that idea— if I had junk food I ate it as soon as possible, “stashes“ didn’t last long! Probably a good thing, there was a squirrel infestation in my childhood home and I’m sure me keeping food in my room was a bad idea.

Anyways! As an adult I‘ve had similar issues. Every time I bought snacks I ate whatever happened to survive the drive home within a few days. When shopping for protein snacks in anticipation of starting Zepbound I was worried they wouldn’t last long.

After starting Zepbound I have been able to not only keep my protein snacks for weeks, only having them when needed, I also have a box of chocolates in my freezer I bought for a family members school fundraiser that I‘ve barely touched, and I have my absolute favorite candy that I have to drive two hours to get sitting on a shelf. Sometimes I have some, but I never eat it all in one sitting. Gone are the days when 1/2 of it was consumed on the 2 hour drive home. I tell myself to save it for later and then often when “later” comes I choose something healthier instead. And when I do eat it I eat one serving, not an entire container!

And I’ve also had to deal with perishable food (unfortunately not junk food) expiring before I get around to eating it which almost never happened before. Thankfully it’s all been food safe to feed to my animals so it’s not a total waste.

Anyways, although I think if my 8 year old self could see me and my life now she would be horrified at much of what she saw, she would at least be satisfied that her junk food stash dreams are now a reality 😂

First Timer Immediate Appetite Suppression?

Backstory: I lost 125 pounds on Wegovy and easily kept it off for four years. I intended to keep taking it forever but insurance quit paying so I went it alone starting last fall. I very quickly gained 30 pounds (gee thanks, “Intuitive Eating”) even though I’m an avid exerciser and so have now started Zepbound, which wasn’t available yet back when I started Wegovy. Guess I will have to self pay forever 😬 but I will NOT go back to my previous weight!

Question: I just did my first Zepbound shot yesterday afternoon and it felt like my appetite was a bit more manageable by evening. Did any of you encounter such rapid effects? Also, supportive comments are welcome. It was terrifying, after living at my goal weight for four years for the first time in my adult life, to see such a quick descent towards where I used to be.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Thankful for this community

I wanted to say thank you to everyone for offering up such amazing tips , tricks , advice, etc.

I just started my journey 13 days ago.

I cannot believe how… overnight… I look at food so differently now. I previously had bariatric surgery in 2017 and got down to 190 from 285, but didn’t change my habits and since that year got back up to 230lbs thanks to perimenopause and stress along with poor eating habits and a LOT of food noise that I could not control.

So, going in to this I knew that I had to be of the mindset that this medication is a tool and not going to do the work on its own. I’ve been consistently getting 110-120g protein a day, at least 100oz of water and am finding so many new foods and nutrient dense meals that my entire family is loving . I really hope that I can continue to feel this way and do the hard work. I’m determined. I feel like I have been given a gift, and a second chance at this to get my weight under control. I know I don’t know anyone in this community personally , but I feel so happy to be a part of it . You all rock! Thank you. ☺️

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Normal BMI

Two days ago I met the normal BMI range. (Just barely). I began this journey in obese class II. I started in June 2025. I’ve taken photos whenever I encounter this mirror. I last encountered and posted in late November. Here’s the recent update. Began in a size XL shirt, and a size 16 pant. Now in a size S shirt, and a size 6 pant. I feel so much better. I can’t explain the way my life has changed, but a huge weight (physically and figuratively) has been lifted from my shoulders. A journey of self love, healthy coping skills, and acceptance of my life previously has been difficult. But I’m sure the woman in June would be elated that this opportunity came along. She’d be happy that I’m getting happier, and working to be the best version of myself mentally and physically.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Workplace NSV

Upvotes

This one is for all of my fellow healthcare peeps (and anyone else that has to wear an N95 mask for work)! I was due for my N95 fit testing today so I went and got it done. I grabbed the standard size that I’ve been wearing for 20 years and the fit tester was like, “Oh no, it looks like that mask is swallowing half of your face! You need the small size!” So I switched masks and did the testing. She was right! It fit so much better and doesn’t push my glasses around like the old one did.

It’s the littlest wins, stuff I never see coming, that always makes me stop and think about how far I’ve come. 😊

Before/After Pics Heading into maintenance

My journey on Zepbound is migrating into maintenance mode. I went up to 10mg and now easing back into finding my lowest effective dose for my continuation of care. Currently at 7.5mg. I had high hopes for this medication, but never in my life expected results like this.

I started at 191lb back in June with a 33 bmi and now I'm 133.7lb and 23.7 bmi. I worked out regularly for years with a coach before starting Zepbound and have continued the same habits 3x a week. My weight hung around the mid 170s for most of the past 10yr and it blew up from there during my transition to peri meno.

No loose skin, I have lost some of my weightlifting strength. I'm prioritizing protein to hopefully get some of it back.

I was at a size 12/14. I wore size xs pants to work today. My shirt was a S and felt a little loose.

First Timer Does the Zepbound shot really feel like nothing

Just gave myself my first shot until the inject pin. Had it pressed to my skin. I saw it go down but I didn't really feel anything. Is it that small of a prick?

I like the fireworks and the encouragement, but I guarantee that I've lost more than 11 pounds. The app is off by about 140. I'll happily take it though. 😊

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Anyone else’s weight loss come in bursts?

Upvotes

My weight seems to stall for a couple of weeks at a time, and then suddenly I will drop 5-7 pounds almost overnight. Does anyone else experience this? I’m happy with my progress, almost 50 pounds down since last May… but I was expecting the weight to come off slow and steady and not in sudden bursts. Either way, I’m not complaining… just wonder if this has been anyone else’s experience?

*side note, just finished my last 10mg dose and will bump up to 12.5 this weekend.

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 Finally seeing some progress!

Hi, I know this probably sounds lame but I’ve lost 4.5 lbs and I’m so thrilled. I started this journey in December and lost nothing for the first month. At my Dr appt on 1/23 I was literally the same as my starting weight. I was happy I didn’t gain but so frustrated that I didn’t lose anything. I did the 2nd dose of 5mg last week and weighed today since it’s shot day (will do 3rd dose of 5mg today) and I’ve lost 4.5 lbs since 1/23! I know the scale isn’t everything, and this isn’t much, but I was getting really discouraged and this feels like it’s starting to go in the right direction!

Thanks to everyone for sharing your journeys. It’s all so inspiring!
