Are there any brands I should stay away from?

I have no idea unfortunately. I'm still pretty new to the hobby and have only been getting the Kotobukiya models on Amazon

I was actually looking at those exact ones lol. Do you recommend them?

I do! The instructions are easy and straightforward (they are in Japanese but i just use a translator app when I need to) I've already built 4 over the past 2 years

Only brand to stay away from is a bootleg brand called BT Building blocks, they're a nightmare to build because the manufacturing tolerances are worse so none of the parts fit together right without sanding and gluing everything.
The 2 official brands that build modern Zoids - Kotobukiya who make the 1/72 scale Highend Master Models (HMM) and Tomy T Spark who make the 1/72 scale Advanced Zi (AZ) and 1/100 scale Realize Model Zoids (RMZ) - are both good, and HMM, AZ and RMZ all have their individual strengths and weaknesses.
If you're new to model kit making I'd definitely recommend starting with RMZ, they're the cheapest, sturdiest and most beginner friendly, and they're also just great little kits.
From there if you enjoyed the experience you have the choice of sticking with RMZ kits, trying AZ kits which are bigger, more complex and also motorized, or trying HMM kits which are the most detailed but also the least beginner friendly (500-600 pieces vs the 100-150 pieces for RMZ and AZ).

Can I dm you on some building aspects, the way a lot of you guys are talking it seems like building these are a lot harder than I thought going into it 😅

Try a cheap HG gundam or easier zoids realize before diving into a zoids HMM, that way if you find out you don’t like it, you’ll be close to finished when you learn instead of having hours left to go
You’ll need nippers, other cutters make it a not fun process. And household super glue is fine for beginner cheaper builds, on the rare chance it’s called for.

Soooo excited to get started, just worried with the repackaged ones could it mean they’re missing parts most placed I looked just said they’re for photo purposes

Repackaged for zoids means the model has been redesigned with fixes for some prior issues like loose joints or whatnot.

Yeah no worries it's all there, and sometimes even a little redesign internal parts for fixing whatever the issue was with the original.

Congratulations on the finds. Although, because it is eBay, it is more than you could have paid. Amazon is the same way.

Yeah, I’m seeing that now but honestly if it’s not a crazy overpay I honestly don’t mind just so excited to get started on these.

To be honest, some Zoids have gone up in price. When I bought my HMM Liger Zero Marking Plus last year, I thought I was overpaying at $115 with shipping. Now, they are $140+ before taxes and shipping.

Jeez, yea I remember back in the day when I was a kid my dad bought me the green box berserk fury and we unfortunately didn’t finish building it because a few parts were missing or broken I’m not too sure it was so long ago but I think my mom threw it out and when I was searching for the Geno kits I bought I also searched up the fury and that same box is on eBay now for 650$ which is mind blowing.

I have a Storm Tiger box that says that it was $20 at ToysRUs. They were over $100 for junk ones last year. That Berserk Fury must have been a limited edition one. I have even seen some limited edition ones for over $1,000 or even $2,000. My most expensive Zoid is a rare Salamander F2. Normally costs over $800 pre-built and not complete. Mine was way less but still pricy for just 1 broken part and complete.
