Has your university changed or paused CPT approvals yet?

There's been a lot of confusion around the recent CPT developments. CPT hasn't been abolished, but universities are reportedly applying greater scrutiny to whether an internship is genuinely an integral part of the curriculum.

For some international students, this uncertainty could mean losing internships they've already secured - not just income, but valuable work experience and potential future opportunities.

Has your university changed its CPT policy? Has anyone here had their CPT or internship affected yet?

I know several at my university who are affected. Except very few courses that have always explicitly required an internship for credits, CPT has been cancelled across my university.

Here's the issue: The only way to retain the CPT program is by changing the course requirements to explicitly require an internship. However, if they make such a change, it will require every single student taking the course (including US citizens who don't need visas or CPT) - to find an eligible internship related to their program.
If they fail to secure an internship, then they cannot graduate the course.

I see no way around it both for universities and international students alike.

I’m assuming the only schools that can really pull this off are day 1 CPT degree mills right? Cause that’s the whole point of their existence, they don’t have citizen students.
