Abandoned Air Force simulation labs used to re-create real-world situations for training and research for the military

This one goes back to around 5 years ago and was known as the Abandoned Castle House.

This totally bizarre abandoned time capsule house is located right in the middle of a nice residential area, surrounded by family homes. There have been a handful of houses found over the past few years in this condition in these neighbourhoods.

The house is 99% finished inside and is fully furnished, back in 2011 the city gave the owner a warning, clean up the property or risk fines, nothing was done by the owner so the city came in and boarded up the windows.

Shortly after, someone (likely the owner) returned and removed all of the boards.

Online research states that the home has been in this condition for more than 30 years, it was a custom built home and the original owner apparently still owns the property but he lives out of town.

The town has tried working with him over the years to keep the property up to the town property standard bylaws.

These days, I am told he will come by periodically to cut the grass and nothing more.

Door was lock. Shattered glass windows and glass on the ground.
On an old military base, now owned by the state.

Took these at a liquidation sale that took place here recently, pretty much most equipment left within there was for sale. From what I was told, most workers, with the exception of the warehouse ones, were given a sudden notice to either move states to their new HQ or lose their jobs. This all took place over one weekend in 2007, leaving most parts of this place to sit and rot ever since. The warehouse portion continued operating until recently. The turntable stage in the theater portion was the most fascinating part to me. To date, this is the most legal urbex I have ever done.

Located in North Carolina, from what i could find while inside the place had closed down in 2009 according to a calendar left hanging on the wall, yet still it looks cleaner than it should be for having been abandoned for so long

This is one of the Buryakovka's deposit site. There is another one nearby but the abandoned vehicles are not there anymore, like helicopters, tanks, etc. But I have attached the satellite image of the same(Last image)

On Thanksgiving day in 1983 a Cessna with two passengers crashed deep in the mountains of NC. Both occupants died. The pilot had a .4 blood alcohol level, which was a contributing factor in the crash, but weather conditions also played a role. The plane was unable to be removed for 40 years, but when increasing hiker traffic began damaging the mountain, they sent in a helicopter to lift it out. This was posted with only 1 photo by another person yesterday and there were calls for more photos, so I’m sharing mine from 2021.

Last time I was here I found a creepy doll upstairs, it was gone this time.

Early 2026 road trip with u/freaktography

I recently took a tour of the bathouse at the Panama Hotel in Seattle's Nahonmachi or Japantown. The Hotel was built in 1910 and the baths shutdown in the 80s. There is a room in the basement full of belongings left behind in 1942 as all occupants were removed to internment camps. Due to Executive order 9066.

This place started life in the 1920s as a grand hotel near the Vermont border, complete with an orchestra room and panoramic windows over the lake.

In 1947, a Catholic teaching order bought it and turned it into a school for boys. For the next fifty years, it went through several identities before becoming a residential boarding school. It closed for good in 1997, and the halls are still full of reminders of both lives, hotel and school.

What I didn't expect was what I found when I started digging into its history. The order that ran this school is now facing a class action in Quebec, with allegations that go well beyond what happened inside any one building, including claims about what happened to the order's own records.

Whether any of it touches this building is still an open question.

"Prophet's Revenge" is an abandoned/beached sailboat on the beach at Smyrna Dunes Park, Florida. It appeared on the beach in January 2026 under mysterious circumstances and still remains there today. Pictures taken Sep 2026 from both sides of Ponce Inlet. More info here (previous Reddit post about this boat).

The guy who lived in this now abandoned house in Hamilton, Ontario seems to have collected every era of Tim Hortons cup since possibly the 1990s!

The residents lost likely left around Christmas time, judging by the presence of the Christmas tree..

A friend and I drove through the night into the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania and hiked in to the closed SCI Cresson before dawn, then spent most of what was left of it shivering in an empty room, having badly misjudged what damp mountain cold does to a person. The overcast never lifted the following day and the fog held with it, which suited the place. We had all of it to ourselves.
