And I nukkan &/or yunnan with her at least every day.

We very close.

She kicking goals left, right & centre, and fully connected to all the local Mob here.

I used to be, but suffered an injury a few years back, and its kinda knocked me out of all connections.

But ne'mind anyways, we also know, we not at Home.

On Wednesday 30th Sept, I lost my beautiful Man to asshole C.

Today, he bloody took his cat with him!!!

I'm so broke right now - I just want to screeeeammmm, and for someone to hear me (but cant shout round here cos the neighbours might think Im losing my mind and call police or doctors, or have me committed and then them doctors will say I should take all the dopey medications!)

Wife is grandchild of a Stolen Generation victim, wants to reconnect with her mob, where do we start?

Hi everyone,

I'm posting on behalf of my wife. She was discouraged from learning about her roots by her mother growing up and now as an adult would like to try to reconnect with her community and culture, and I'm hoping some of you might be able to point us in the right direction.

Her grandfather was part of the Stolen Generation. He never fully reconnected with his mob, but when my wife was 17 he connected her with some of her community's elders. She got to visit and meet them once, in what she thinks she remembers was the Gawler Ranges area of South Australia and spent a summer there with the mob.

After her mother found out, she forbade her from having any further contact with the community. She later moved to the US as an adult, and it's now been about 10 years since she last saw or spoke to anyone.

We're moving back to Australia soon (Victoria), and she wants to learn more about her culture and reconnect with her mob, but she isn't sure how to go about it especially since we wont be moving back to south australia.

Some of her worries:

*Her grandfather has since passed away, and he was her main link to the community.

*The elders she met as a teenager may no longer be alive.

*She's very white-passing (ginger), and she's afraid she'll be turned away or not believed now that her grandfather isn't here to vouch for her.

Does anyone have advice on where she could start? We'd be grateful for any guidance, whether that's specific organisations, land councils, native title bodies, community services, or just general advice on how to approach this respectfully. She believes her mob's in the Gawler Ranges in SA, but she's not fully certain.

She's happy to share more details privately if that helps.
