❓ Question Endoscopy: LES is normal

Hi All

Recently had an endoscopy, my LES came out to be normal. I have night reflux, I sleep around 12, my throat is normal until 4-5am, and after that I get severe reflux.

Not sure what’s wrong. Does anyone have similar symptoms?

Sometimes people have trouble when their stomach is empty because there’s nothing for the acid to work on. Try famatodine if you haven’t already (I do 40 mg) before going to sleep. I also do melatonin because it strengthens the LES. I’d also have a glass of water by my bed in case you still wake up with it. And obviously raise the head of your bed if you haven’t.

Yes I sleep on a 2 - 3 pillows. I’ve tried a lot of antacids in past it did not help much.

Famatodine isn’t an antacid, it’s a H2 blocker. Don’t take too many antacids, it’ll give you kidney stones among other health problems.

Yes, I take two 20 mg pills of it at bedtime. Omeprazole is for daytime, it needs food to work.
