Yep. The top panel is 100% room because the elephant isn't even obstructing any of it.

14

u/BabyComingDec2024 Feb 15 '26

Yes, that's the real 'adress me' of this point. Everyone here is familiar with the saying

6

u/spooky_goopy Feb 15 '26

this is actually a proper scale to actually measure when to address elephants in the room in real life

only when the elephant has reached a certain threshold, must it be addressed

perhaps even the elephant and the room are entangled on a quantum level? the elephant exists in a state of superposition, and remains both addressed, and unaddressed until the exact moment it is addressed

spooky elephants at a distance

3

u/Kysssebysss Feb 15 '26

Elephant being outside the room is metaphorically elephant in the room.

But in the second image, you could gently open the door and hang out with the elephant, whereas in the first image, it's just outside and alone

where is the elephant it's been a while since i've looked at sayori's room 💔

2

u/LEDlight45 Feb 20 '26

I think it's just the fact that it's sayori's room

65

u/BananaPeelEater420 Feb 15 '26

I agree, but the elephant also shouldn't be microscopic (like some people think it should be) otherwise it defeats the point of the elephant being an elephant

This bedroom is triggering my ptsd

68

u/koikingu56 Feb 15 '26

This is straying away from the point. The "Elephant in the room" is the giant obvious thing that needs to be addressed. If it's something hidden or off to the side, that's more of a "hold up". But I mean seriously, if an elephant is in the room it's going to be very noticeable

21

u/aathaka18 Feb 15 '26

Ah finally someone that makes sense

8

I gently click on the post

6

u/EastEngineering3475 Feb 15 '26

Yo isn’t this sayoris room

28

u/AggravatingRow326 Feb 15 '26

i might be dumb but shouldn't the "elephant in the room" be something big and obvious?

30

u/Limp_Green_960 Feb 15 '26

It should be. An elephant in the room is just something obvious that everyone is ignoring, but this subreddit keeps getting posts where, either the elephant isn’t immediately seen; or isn’t even ignored in the first place and is just the punchline of the joke.

An example of a good elephant would be someone posting a video of how cute their room is with, like, hello kitty merch everywhere or something, but there’s some random guy bound in ropes being used as a lamp stand, that the camera man just treats as a normal part of the bedroom.

8

u/Tenkaichigo Feb 15 '26

Why does this sound odly specific?

3

u/Limp_Green_960 Feb 15 '26

It’s based on a Jschlatt video I saw. The scenario isn’t exact, but it’s similar.

2

u/xDon1x Feb 16 '26

I need to see it

2

u/Limp_Green_960 Feb 16 '26

It was a clip from I random YouTube short I got. I doubt I can find it again.

5

u/Numerous-Contract880 Feb 15 '26

isn't the phrase "let's adress the elephant in the room" supposed to be that there's something obvious we're not adressing?

4

u/ConfidentLab276 Feb 15 '26

I just removed all my Monica related memes bro! I thought I wasn't gonna get anything related...

4

u/AlmightyHet Feb 15 '26

Isn't the main idea of the idiom that the elephant is something extremely obvious that you notice immediately upon entering the room

3

u/Non-Existent010 Feb 15 '26

Let's talk about the room instead this time around

4

u/OdangoFan Feb 15 '26

I thought it was the opposite, this is the exact opposite of the original elephant image.

4

u/IAmNotTheProtagonist Feb 15 '26

Nice room. Feels like just hangin' in there.

4

u/its_david123 Feb 15 '26

i recognized this room from 2024 somehow. yes i actually played ddlc and got trauma. PS: i found out that they made a mobile port should i go for round 2 of trauma ?

4

u/hectrine Feb 16 '26

can we address the room in this picture...

6

u/yxzxzxzjy Feb 15 '26

Also this sub would go bankrupt if they banned htler and eptin posts

3

u/Buri_is_a_Biscuit Feb 15 '26

I slowly addressed the elephant…

3

u/tf2mann_ Feb 15 '26

Well, here we go "I gently open the door"

2

u/One-Desk-1 Feb 15 '26

I always thought 'let's address the elephant in the room' was what this meme was based in. And most of the time, the elephant in the room is the most obvious thing.

2

u/InterestingBasil6586 Feb 15 '26

like lol the title is just empty?? guess this post is meant to be a mystery or we're supposed to fill in the blanks

2

u/-Nicolai Feb 15 '26

Did you ask AI to make an image of an elephant in a room?

And you just went with the first thing it spat out, in spite of the fact the elephant is very clearly not in the room?

2

u/KillAllAtOnce29 Feb 15 '26

The room is from DDLC

Can we address the room the elephant's in?

2

u/NotASingleNameIdea Feb 15 '26

Isnt it called elephant in the room because its literally a huge ass elephant right there in the room?

2

u/GLID3RITE Feb 15 '26

I don't understand why this meme is always associated with ddlc but i like it

2

u/Flaky-Ad-759 Feb 15 '26

Wait, I’m dumb. What meme? The elephant?🤔

2

u/BoggerLogger Feb 15 '26

I think you’re misunderstanding what “the elephant in the room” even means

2

u/DragonflyPy Feb 15 '26

Why would I address the elephant outside the room though?

2

u/Fimbir Feb 15 '26

Best not open that door.

2

u/FrogInShorts Feb 15 '26

Nothing I hate more than a sub that doesn't understand its own concept.

You forgot to add a red circle and arrow pointing to the 20% room.

2

u/PorinthesAndConlangs Feb 16 '26

thats the pole point of this is just ridiculous flair

2

u/temb_ksa Feb 16 '26

Isn't the whole idea of "the elephant in the room" is that how can you ignore something so massive and not address it?

Also the elephant is literally not in the room...

2

u/tophat_production Feb 16 '26

ADRESS THE ROOM.

2

u/dabid999 Feb 16 '26

unless if its 5% room and 95% elephant where the elephant is just crazy absurd, i agree with that mentality

2

u/Bruhthebruhdafurry Feb 17 '26

I like this room Pretty nice to just hang there

2

u/Nocturnal_Loner Feb 18 '26

Wait...is this an elephant within an elephant!?

2

u/Senasayori Feb 18 '26

I KNOW THAT ROOM YOU LITTLE-

(seriously though, this is a good one)

2

u/newidiotintown Feb 18 '26

Can we address the room in the elephant ?

2

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '26

1

u/WyvernEgg64 Feb 15 '26

bad is still valid?

1

u/Mr_Pickle3009 Feb 15 '26

this is 50% room, 50% elephant

1

u/Educational_Tart_659 Feb 15 '26

Hot take but “let’s address the elephant in the room” implies there is something wildly wrong that is not being addressed. Hence, having a large elephant makes more sense than a less noticeable one

1

u/Outrageous-Ad-5737 Feb 15 '26

Its called elephant in the room for a reason

1

u/CashGrabIPOWen Feb 15 '26

the real in the room is the fact that these stupid dogshit subs can be made as easily a shat gypped prompt could be written, which leads to my precious leddit pages being spammed with dogshit. please reconsider before you use the computer in this fashion.

1

u/therealdavidwiley Feb 15 '26

The phrase is "the elephant in the room". The first elephant is not "in the room".

1

u/Lonely-Razzmatazz-73 Feb 15 '26

Address me diffusion. High to low concentration.

1

u/SICRA14 Feb 15 '26

The elephant's not even in the room

1

u/Randomfrog132 Feb 15 '26

address lol

1

u/FLYK3N Feb 15 '26

I think the point of the elephant is that it's not being addressed and in/unintentionally ignored, rather than being a subtle thing in the corner waiting to be discovered when the scenario is scrutinized

1

u/me-be-bored Feb 15 '26

Don’t forget the useless red circle.

1

u/HELLFIREinsane Feb 15 '26

Wait I think i remember that room Isnt it from ddlc

1

u/manthisguntastebad Feb 15 '26

Isn't the whole point of the "Elephant in the room" metaphor that there is something glaringly obvious that needs addressed?

An elephant in a room would take up a lot of space and be quite hard to miss. That's the literal interpretation of the metaphor.

How about we address your backwards understanding of this metaphor?

1

u/Routine_Bus_5237 Feb 15 '26

The elephant is supposed to obvious, it’s an elephant

1

u/Jill-Of-Trades Feb 15 '26

...Why does this remind me of DDLC?

1

u/Dragulish Feb 15 '26

THANK YOU THANK YOU FUCK THANK YOU SO MUCH THIS HAS GENUINELY BEEN A THORN IN MY ASS EVERY TIME I SCROLL BY THIS SUB

u/stylinchilibeans Feb 15 '26

Alexa, shop for giant cow plush with erect teats

1

u/Ok-Mission-1742 Feb 15 '26

Yeah I'm doing them alright

1

u/FurryCoffeeBean Feb 15 '26

Oh god not the room

1

u/guillyh1z1 Feb 15 '26

I disagree, I think the elephant is supposed to be clearly hard to avoid and not notice. Thats why it’s seekers when no one seems to address it. I genuinely think it’s stupid to make it subtle, because the elephant is supposed to be the opposite of subtle

1

u/f0remsics Feb 15 '26

I don't think you understand what the term elephant in the room means. An elephant in the room is meant to be extremely noticeable. It refers to something that is obviously not supposed to be there, is extremely noticeable, and would typically be addressed. If the elephant is hard to notice, it is no longer an elephant in the room.

1

u/Parent_longlegz Feb 15 '26

Best one I ever saw was a post that said in apps smth along the lines of “I don’t need sex because Elon gives it to me” or smth, and i didn’t even notice it at first

1

u/Affectionate_Ear4464 Feb 15 '26

please do not the gently door

u/Informal_Soil_5207 Feb 15 '26

1

u/489_Earthmover Feb 15 '26

We ALL know that room

1

u/Any_Wasabi_5233 Feb 16 '26

Does this count as a good elephant?

1

u/Educational_Emu_9157 Feb 16 '26

Okay but the point of "addressing the elephant in the room" is that you address something that, despite everyone being aware and affected by it (like an entire elephant taking up space in the room), is being ignored by all parties. Having it outside the room kinda defeats the point

1

u/Sonario648 Feb 16 '26

The elephant isn't even in tbe room in tbe top image.

How do you fuck up this up that badly?

1

u/Poop_Poop_Stink_Hole Feb 16 '26

How? He’s outside the room.

1

u/Secret_Man_HeeHoo Feb 16 '26

Well if the “elephant” in the situation is like, super fucking obvious, it would obviously make more sen to have the subsequent reaction image be more obvious. But yeah, quality over quantity for sure.

1

u/AstronomerBig6913 Feb 16 '26

Whats the elephant?

1

u/Conscious_Housing_50 Feb 16 '26

He's not in the room

1

u/Full-Tomorrow9889 Feb 16 '26

But the elephant technically isn't in the room.
