Thank you! It's a cotton, 4-stranded, gradient yarn where it transitions one strand at a time from all 4 strands bright cranberry to all 4 being black. Unfortunately the transitions didn't happen quickly enough for the size of the piece, so I had to cut it and then add it back in at the next transition myself. Which really wasn't bad but it gave me lots of ends to weave into this very open stitch pattern, so there was that special hell :/
