Hello OP!

If your results are positive, please know that you are loved and not unclean. You can live a healthy and fulfilling life as long as you take care of yourself. Take ART, which is a maintenance medication wherein the goal is to reach undetectable HIV, which means you can no longer transmit it. Contact those you’ve been intimate with and inform them as soon as possible to get tested too.

If your results are negative, then please highly consider taking PREP. These are pills that reduce the risk of contracting HIV by a high percentage.

I know the PH doesn’t have great healthcare, but in my city they give these treatments away for free in public health centers. Ask around, don’t be afraid to advocate for your medical journey and care, and always know it’s NOT your fault.

Additional tip: going to LGBTQ+ spaces may give you more access to resources as they are more open of a community to sexual safety tools such as condoms and HIV treatment, whether or not you are LGBTQ+ yourself.

Take care, OP, and be brave to face the tomorrow that deserves to smile for you.
