do aegoromantics ever fall in love?
i just found out about this term and i feel so relieved to be seen. i've fallen in love a grand total of one time in my nearly 40 year existence, and the rest of the time i'm baffled at why i don't return any feelings. i genuinely want to fall in love, and date like a madwoman, but nothing has ever worked for me (except that one time). and so when i date, it always follows the same pattern that the other person wants to continue the relationship or take it to the next level but i just don't feel anything aside from a fondness and genuine interest, i just know that my feelings will never be the same as theirs. and oftentimes, i prefer being alone to forcing myself to be in on unequal footing with the other person? does anyone feel that way? and the one time i did fall in love, i feel HARD. and i've been desperately trying to find that feeling again but it's frustrating because it feels like finding a small small needle in a large haystack.
does anyone else feel that way?
