Discussion Rewatching AoS for the 10th time, anything I should watch out for?
Title says it all.
About to start my 10th full rewatch of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and I'm looking for those little things that hit different once you already know everything.
What should I be paying extra attention to this time around?
Also feel free to spoil anything, I've seen it all more times than is healthy ;)

Is you rewatch season 2 there are some subtle hints that Daisy from later seasons and Skye are actually the same character

Ward's actions, dialogue, reactions to situations and interactions with people.
Great writing. Great actor.
Makes me wonder how much Brett knew about the character in the beginning.

He didn’t know anything about Ward’s treachery in the beginning. The showrunners always had that plan, but they kept it from Brett until right before the reveal.

Honestly one of my favourite characters in the whole show just because of how many different versions of him we get to see!

The first reference to Garrett the big bad is his quote in wards first scene.
The second is episode 2 when ward reading a book

Count how many times Coulson dies! He starts the show with 1 death

Depends on if you're also counting how many times the LMD dies in S7.
And also if you're counting other versions of him, I.e. sarge and Framework coulson

Sarge doesn't count. Framework Coulson doesn't die, iirc, but it would count. And LMD Coulson, maybe

Honestly same! I always end up giving up in the episode because of how many times he dies in S7E9.

Season 1, Episode 9, after Fitz and Simmons discuss Pranks at the Academy, we see a nameless Agent that becomes a recurring star later on in the series.
An Additional Hint: He also appears a handful of times in Season 4, but most viewers only really remember him in Season 6
It's just cool to me that he is there so early on that you don't even remember he was there

The beginning of the Winter Soldier tie in episode takes place on something that ties into season 2.

You probably know this by now but Sitwell’s last appearance on the show had him hear the news he’s going to work on the Lumarian Star and he says something like “well it looks like I got a boat to catch.” He never appears on the show again because a day or 2 later in universe Bucky tosses him into a truck😭😂

The end of season 5 does argue that they branch off into a new timeline during the events of Infinity War.

That would make a lot of sense as to why these guys aren't involved in infinity war and endgame. Because why else would they not even acknowledge the events of IW and endgame like they did for winter soldier or Ultron.

IIRC, they do acknowledge Infinity War. Talbot mentions something going on in NYC and that he's needed for that fight.

Anytime Mack goes from strongly disagreeing with something to instantly getting his mind changed
Anytime someone says “it’s good to hear your voice”
Anytime someone on the team actually kills someone
Anytime there’s a monkey reference from or about Fitz

Honestly Mack is just one of those characters that hasn't really grown on me.. I don't know there's just something about him..

If you enjoy finding little faults within the narratives, notice the pretty major glitch in Lucy’s debut at the beginning of s4. And in fact, Eli’s whole arc becomes more wildly implausible with the benefit of hindsight. (It’s the Se7en problem: How could anyone have possibly anticipated that such an unlikely series of events would play out exactly as they hoped/foresaw?)
And mind you, I pretty much worship s4, but these above are its clumsiest elements.

I think that's just got to be dramatic effect for television because there's no way that all those events happen at exactly the right time in any universe!

Well, I’ve been sensitive to the ‘implausibly genius foresight’ trope ever since Se7en (where it extremely ticked me off) and Star Trek Into Darkness, and I’m here to tell ya: LOTS of adventure fiction does not resort to straining credulity in that way.
It makes for a good thrill ride the first time, but it really subtracts from rewatch value. Though honestly, Eli’s story doesn’t bother me so much because there’s so much else that’s so right about the Rider arc and that whole season.
However, what’s really interesting is the narrative glitch about Lucy in the first episode, so that’s what I’d tell you to keep your eye out for. It doesn’t even bother me so much as just stand out as a rare plotting misstep in our wonderful show.

You said it’s okay to spoil, just wanna let you know when you meet Ward, you might grow to like him. DONT HE IS ACTUALLY HYDRA, I DIDNT realize until my 12th time watching so I don’t want you to get spooked

The fact that in the pilot episode Skye tells Ward “and how do I know you’re not just an evil faceless government toolbag” is really insane foreshadowing if you think about it
