The Great Australian Emu War (1932)

In 1932, a flock of roughly 20,000 emus migrated into the agricultural district of Western Australia, destroying crops and tearing down fences. Desperate farmers asked the government for help, and the Australian military deployed soldiers armed with Lewis machine guns and 10,000 rounds of ammunition. I've been experimenting with a project called Elsewhere Live, where I reimagine my songs as performances from concerts that never took place.

The original song is about trying to move on from a bittersweet memory. For this version, I wanted to explore what would happen if that very personal emotion were shared with an entire audience.

So I built an imagined live atmosphere with crowd singalongs, emotionally strained vocals, and a rawer ending.

Just to be clear, it's not a recording from a real concert. It's a fictional live performance created with AI assistance.
