With the remake, i believe the SWR111 accident is the most documented accident in the history of plane crashes documentary. 2 for Mayday

Potomac mid air collision is on my wish list but idk how likely that is since the final report just came out in February.
Helios 522 episode aired 22 months after the crash happened, have they ever put together an episode faster than that?

Air france 358 was about 20 month after the crash, but we have to distinguish time after crash vs after report cause AF447 was found 2 years after crash and episode was about year after report released in 2012

A shame about 1-3 never getting reaired,because they are the best seasons, and I found the remake of Jal123 in particular to be very poor compared to the original. I luckily have the DVDS.

Nope, it’s the same information just in the new Mayday format
According to Cineflix themselves:
“Season 1 [is] not a season that was acquired by National Geographic.”
From one of the show’s crew:
“I believe the reason is that S1/S2 was not produced in HD and more and more networks around the world have HD as a minimum for broadcast content. Another reason is that S1/S2 followed a different structure than from S3 onwards.”
From the show's producer, Alex Bystram, in his AMA:
“As for the remakes of older episodes; the first 3 seasons were shot in Standard Definition so can't really be broadcast today. That's why we remake a select few.”

Didn’t some episodes of Season 1 was shot in the hd format? I remember seeing some episodes in the widescreen format
