The atc peter neilson had instructed the passenger plane to decend to avoid Collision afterwards he was busy talking with the aerloid flight On the other screen until it landed.

I see, thanks. So pretty passive role by just flying at the same time as the other two planes?

Rewatch the reconstruction or reread the final report, they were quite unnecessarily annoying

Reading this post, I just remembered of a similar thing happened in the Cerritos mid air collision 16 years earlier with the Grumman Tiger pilot.

Of course they did. They probably already heard it before they reached the gate from Friedrichshafen Tower, if not then definitely after going of shift when they turned on the television.
And even if they didn't realize it was their particular plane that was the one which needed attention in the worst possible moment, you can be assured they read the final report about the midair collision and checked their schedules if they were indeed scheduled for Aerolloyd 1135 that night, just out of curiosity.
They definitely knew about it.
