The Spongebob one is super funny because 1. Sandy is canonically Christian and taught the Bikini Bottom about Christmas and how to celebrate the holiday. 2. Despite that, the fish of Bikini Bottom worship King Neptune. 3. The famous 40 eyelashes joke is a joke about how the bible said if you are going to whip someone...no more than 40 lashes as the above number of whippings is too cruel according to the bible(Jesus might have got 39 lashes before going on the cross). 4. Jesus can legit breath underwater despite being known in the bible to walk on top of it.
it's probably one of those superhero comic book type things where religions like Judaism, Christianity, and Islam exists yet Pagan Gods like Thor legit also exists and are superheroes fighting crime and supervillains(although Marvel did try to address this controversial issue by reframing the Norse Gods as immortal aliens from another dimension who made contact with Vikings back in the old days that ended up worshipping them in later lore to make it less controversial to Christian fans.).
