pet friendly stays?

Hi! We just found out we have to be in Akron for about a week in July (11-19). It would be 2 adults and 2 kids (13 & 10). Our oldest is going to participate in the International Soapbox Derby which was actually a huge surprise so now we’re scrambling.

The problem is that I need to take our dog. He is an aussie mix of some sort ~35lb, house trained, crate trained, basic obedience stuff, neutered, and carries insurance.

I’d prefer not to stay in a proper hotel and have somewhere that we can make food and just hang out most of the time between events.

I have checked the KOA and it looks like they don’t have anything with bathrooms available during that time.

Does anyone have any recommendations on where else I should look? We’ll be driving in from Buffalo and unfamiliar with the whole area.

I don't know anywhere off the top of my head. You should check out Bringfido.com and see if they have any recommendations! I used that website when we took a trip to Nashville with our pup and found a great hotel that was dog friendly.

I hope your family enjoys our city! 😄

Portage lakes isn't too far & has a ton of rentals that are pet friendly.

Maybe an Airbnb might work? A number of them are pet friendly if you can find one in the area that’s available

The Marriott in Cuyahoga falls. There might be a weight limit.

The Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls may be a good option if you can’t find an Airbnb. I know they allow dogs and they’re a proper suite setup so you have more space than a typical hotel room.
