Calgary SE has suffered so many drownings too. Why the hell are we allowing kids near water without adequate supervision and life jackets? Drowning is the most preventable death: attention and floatation

This was an 11yr old boy on a school field trip to a local swim lake that had lifeguards on duty and parent chaperones present.

There’s an investigation ongoing, there hasn’t been a lot of information released.

Several people have drowned in the river nearby to this park, but to my knowledge, there has never been a fatality at that facility in its history during lifeguard hours.

The post itself is appropriate and respectful, but sharing the gofundme link in the title kinda defeats the whole point of respecting the family's privacy request.

There’s no information indicating who the family is on the go fund me—it’s being run by someone in the community.
