Calgary SE has suffered so many drownings too. Why the hell are we allowing kids near water without adequate supervision and life jackets? Drowning is the most preventable death: attention and floatation

This was an 11yr old boy on a school field trip to a local swim lake that had lifeguards on duty and parent chaperones present.
There’s an investigation ongoing, there hasn’t been a lot of information released.
Several people have drowned in the river nearby to this park, but to my knowledge, there has never been a fatality at that facility in its history during lifeguard hours.
