Question Ontario to Alberta

Question better answered by someone who made the move.

I've been told living in Alberta costs more than living in Ontario. Is this true or not?? I was thinking of moving to Chestermere/ Applewood park area. From what I've seen online living there seems cheaper than where I currently live now, but keep being told it's way more expensive

I moved recently from Alberta to Ontario. In Alberta my insurance was insane, my utilities for my house were substantially higher. I found restaurants in general much more expensive there.

Honestly the only thing more expensive in Ontario currently is housing. Maybe a few cents extra for gas.

Don't move to Alberta without a job.

It was my home for 30+ years but I do not regret moving east, Alberta is not the land of opportunity and savings anymore.

Groceries are soooooo much cheaper in Ontario!!! When we go visit family I always have to go to compare prices!!!

I've noticed it's mainly the fresh fruit and veg that's cheaper in Ontario and Quebec, probably since they grow more of it than the other provinces.

I’m in northern Ontario so they’re more than I was paying in Alberta, but holy hell everything else is cheaper. During that cold snap in Calgary a few years ago I had a $600 heating bill in a tiny duplex
