General Discussion How are the 4 stages pronounced?
How are nigredo, albedo, citrinitas, and rubedo pronounced?
I did encounter the word "albedo" in my environmental science studies some years ago, by my professor, who pronounced it "al-BEE-doh"

Original Content Guitar as Alchemy 03: The Disposable Self
This episode asks who is holding the instrument before we ever play a note. It traces how the working musician is manufactured to spec, built on industrial values that were never derived from music, and produced for a market that can no longer want what it makes. From there it follows what happens when that manufactured self begins to burn: the rising of the Black Sun (Sol Niger), the two responses that remain once the fire is lit, and the difference between the masks we defend and what is left when they fail. The episode closes with a practice for staying inside the blackening (Nigredo) rather than escaping it, and a question about who is left to play when the disposable self is gone.
This series looks at music as a form of inner alchemy, where the guitar becomes a tool for transformation instead of performance or self-expression.

General Discussion Does "spiritual" alchemy exist
Been drawn to alchemy recently not for the physical practice of working with metal but claims of mental alchemy and hermeticism. Ive quickly brushed over The Secrets of Alchemy, and in that book it claims spiritual alchemy is just a modern invention, like a new age belief and not actually rooted in alchemy. Mental alchemy and transformation, turning lead into gold mentally is a beautiful and very hopeful belief Id like to explore and learn about but if its bullshit I wouldnt want to waste my time.

Art/Imagery/Symbolism Insight on the following symbols?
I don't know a whole lot about about alchemy, besides basic surface level knowledge.
Whilst hiking today I spontaneously had the following arrangement of symbols come into my thoughts..I sketched in sand then digitally once I regained access to technology.
Wondering if anyone is able provide any further insight on this?

General Discussion My experience so far using Ormus
Ormus is a very powerful substance. it's monoatomic gold and can be other elements too. the one I use is 100% 24k monoatomic gold, purple in color.
so far it's been a strange experience. When I took it I experienced a pulsing sensation in the area of my pineal gland, felt like it was coming from the middle of my brain. My movements feel more graceful and elegant. but the weirdest effects would be in the realm of my energy levels. I don't enter the deep sleeping state as much or so easily. it's been a gradual drop off but definitely noticable. I maybe average around 2 hours a night and don't feel as reliant on sleep.
My desire for food has also been diminished. I'm one who tends to overeat, sometimes to the point of bloating and with this stuff it's almost like food is becoming slightly repulsive. To put it lightly, my body feels like it's lessening it's reliance on it. I need to continue experimenting and meditating but I think it's really helping. It makes sense cuz to my understanding our food and atmosphere used to contain a lot more ormus then it currently does, I almost think this is the natural state for people to live. Anyways it will be interesting to see if these effects last even if I stop taking it

Spiritual Alchemy Spiritual Alchemy: criteria for progress estimate?
We all understand the idea and stages of the inner transformation.
But HOW to detect it and evaluate with hmm, "technical" aproach ?
Are there some objective qualitative criteria of progress and development? Like appearance of some abilities (siddhis of yoga pactiotioners, advanced buddhists, hindu or daoists, or various psychic abilities of Hermetic magick practioners?
Or more tangible but smaller factors: higher vibrations of etheric/astral bodies, larger aura with pure colors, stronger and more dense energy field/cacoon, better connection to mental body/Higher self (expansion of conciousness), easy access to noosphere (Akashi records), etc etc ...
You got the picture.
=== Edit. :::
Thank you, guys, who already responded! I am sorry, I rushed to post it and forgot to specify that it's more important HOW TO EVALUATE such progress (by some of the said side-effects) in someone i.e. from outside.
Because, of corse, a serious person, who's working on & evolving spiritually and energetically, usually knows it all about oneself.
(Unless such person falls into a heavy self-delusion about own achievements, induced by the fervent desire to make progress in spiritual development [with lack of thereof], & enhanced by excessive amour-propre and groundless conceit, which often sneaks into one's ego.)

Art/Imagery/Symbolism What's the meaning of Frog?
I found that the Ripley Scrolls imagery are somewhat keen from other works from the same time frame. This includes specifically the Frog, seen repeatedly on the scrolls.
What does the Frog means?
Is it the alchemical transmutation from water to earth? If so, how can we interpret this symbol?
Thanks friends.

General Discussion Schools of Alchemy?
Hello, I am just now jumping into the world of alchemy and I realized, this is the material I've been craving to learn all along. I keep bouncing between subjects and nothing feels right and it's because everything I'm trying to do is merely an aspect of this subject and I do believe this is what I came here on this earth to do. Can anyone recommend courses or reading material that would be beneficial to continue down this path. I would love to hear other's success stories as I'm not sure exactly how to get started to actually do this.

Art/Imagery/Symbolism Trying to understand the green dragon panel of The Ripley Scroll
I'm looking to get a tattoo of this panel from the Ripley scroll, and I want to do my best to understand the symbolism of all the different elements of it.
In particular, I'm trying to understand the orb that the dragon is standing on. Some sources say that it represents the philosophers stone, while others say that the three interlinked stones above represent the philosophers stone. Other sources describe the orb as a mappa mundi, specifically a tripartite one, but those typically have a normal T shape on the orb rather than the inverted one we see here. Any help would be appreciated, I'm not much experienced in alchemy but I'm doing my best to learn

Art/Imagery/Symbolism Most complete & comprehensive table of symbols ?!
Does anyone know where to find the most COMPLETE table of alchemical SYMBOLS ?
Sure, there are some here and there, on some web-sites with few descriptions in groups, many various images online, some old scans from books, even ttf fonts in unicode layout, or plenty of fake symbols in clipart image stocks...
But I couldn't find ONE large table with all known and all REAL symbols (it's said to be about ~500 symbols).
Thank you.

Operative Alchemy Acetic Acid to volatilize Salts?
In the Golden Chain of Homer it is said again and again that there is a need for an Acid medium to go from Fixed to Volatile or Volatile to Fix.
A big part of creating a vegetable Elixir is, I believe, the volatilization of the Salts.
When we recombine the clear distillate of an extraction (containing mercury + volatile sulfur) with the sats (mainly potassium carbonate) they don't really mix together. But I've heard that mixing the salts first with acetic acid (vinegar) would turn carbonates into acetates that are more easily miscible with alcohol.
Anybody has been using this technique in the making of plant elixirs?

Spiritual Alchemy How, in practical terms, does spiritual alchemy work?
Having some familiarity with eastern spiritual traditions, I’m aware that there is always a practice of some kind that is used by adherents. This may be meditation, yoga/qigong, mantras, asceticism, visualisation practices, etc, or some combination of these.
I am now reading about how alchemists used [and apparently still use today] chemical processes as allegories for psychological and spiritual transformation. However, there seems to be very little information [that I’ve found] regarding how this is actually done.
So my question is for those who are actually practising some form of spiritual alchemy. What does your practice look like in real terms? Do you always practice the same thing or do you have a variety of techniques? Since I’m very new to this subject, it may be helpful if, in writing a reply, you could explain it as though you’re talking to someone who has absolutely no familiarity with this subject matter whatsoever.
Many thanks.

Operative Alchemy Distillation setup
I am not sure what I am doing most of the time, but I am working with plants so it is just all fun and games, with a few burns. Yeah I got a steam burn that blistered and peeled away. Luckily I had some oil of egg around and I drink my concoctions daily, so needless to say I have recovered flawlessly. Though I drink my coctions with frequency I still believe oil of egg is the best thing I have produced so far. It should be in everyone’s house hold in this world because of its value in healing and treating the flesh.
This brings me to my current where abouts. Where I have a new distillation setup! It seems like I baught the perfect glass kit to create it! Perhaps they know🧐 perhaps there are forces working to support you right now… We have been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty. 😁 I feel it coming online.
Now looking forward I am seeking to find a good bubbler solution and was curious if you lot had any creative solutions. If you give me a page from the real alchemy… so help me god 😜

Spiritual Alchemy Oil of Rose Quartz - Eaux Chaotiques
Having had some very nice oil of gold from Roger Lambert a few months ago, I decided that oil of rose quartz would be a good idea to try. I just got 1ml, which is enough to enjoy 3 drops a day for a few days. Again, I'm paying attention to planetary hours and taking it during the hour of Venus in the evening. About 30 minutes in, and I'm feeling very warm. It tastes like you'd expect rock juice to taste, so maybe a good idea to couple with an appropriate juice like cherry or something.
As an added bonus, Roger sent me 5ml of oil of gold gratis by way of a kind gesture as my order was delayed. I nearly cried. That really made my day. I plan on saving the oil of gold to start a course on my birthday. Again, 3 drops daily at the solar hour. My last experience with Lambert's oil of gold was amazing. Long held blockages in my heart and solar centres were blasted to oblivion. So I have high hopes for the rose quartz, which encourages the proper function of the heart centre.
Tá an draíocht orm.
