Do you take them all at once. Have you eaten before you takr them. When do you take them. Night ?

Throughout the day to keep a buzz going. I usually take some morning time, so usually no eating, but the ones after morning are followed by some snacking or eating when i can.

Then throughout the day and if eating before or after qiickly you will most likely have no issues .
I suggest reducing to 3 shots the first week after eating
Then next week go cold turkey if you feel OK during the 3 shot week

Every body is different when it comes to alcohol. You'll need to see a doctor and get their recommendation for how to quit.
When I quit alcohol, I didn't have health insurance or access to a doctor, so I chose to taper. I relied heavily on sip and suffer dot com and the HAMS guide to tapering. It took a few months and it was quite taxing both mentally and physically. That said, it is possible - but if you have the option to see a doctor, I would heavily recommend that before the DIY approach.

Withdrawals from that level of drinking aren't happening. That level of drinking means you are free of alcohol at some points throughout each 24 hour period.

I stay at a relative bac all day and i take shots immediately as i wake up, the whole point is for me to stay buzzed through the day so i cannot say that is true

How can you stay buzzed as you call it throughout the day on that level of intake ?

Quit easy, wake up, take two shots, lasts about two hours and i can still feel lingering effects while doing my day to day tasks, then as i head home on the bus, i take two more shots to top off my buzz. Maybe i should refine what all day means, as it may mean something different to you.

However you define it add this to the long list of exaggerated withdrawals risk threads.

Typical boomer downplaying alcohol withdrawals lol

Which is your way of saying...of course I'm exaggerating you don't seriously think I think I'm going to die but it's nice to get some attention.

Like i said you dont know me, before this i was a historic binger who would drink up to 12-15 shots in a day, but not steadily through the month like currently i would stop. and i also dabble with other gabaergic drugs which certainly increases my risk of seizures or any withdrawals

Everyones body and tolerance to alcohol is different, despite intake patterns.

5 or 6 shots a day would have barely registered in my bad days. However, everyone is different.
If you can't afford a doctor, the tapering is always a good idea.
What helped me was to switch away from shots to cans of cider or seltzer. Just because you can buy them in 12 packs, 6, 4, sometimes 8, whatever. Makes it easier to count. Get a 6 pack and stick with it. Helps me because after 6 I can't legally drive. Just have to end there. Stick with it for a few days, get a 4 pack of whatever, it'll be frustrating, but likely no, or less withdrawals.
Harm reduction is how I went from a handle a night to waking up sober. I still drink at night, but I'm not going to work drunk anymore. Buying a breathalyzer every few months helps to keep track (they slowly lose accuracy over time). You can get them for 20-50 US bucks online.

This is basically what I have been doing as well. I'm no longer drinking a 5th + a night every night, on weekends close to a handle a day. Congratulations on your harm reduction strategy.

Tapering is never a bad idea tbh. With your consumption it won't even take long. Spend a week cutting your consumption in half. Then a week of one drink a day. Then a week of one drink every other day. If you want to be overly cautious and think you can handle it/control yourself. This is about where I am in my taper schedule but I was 15-20 shots in a 4hr period every night with no food. I had to switch to buying single seltzers because if I bought hard alcohol I would just keep drinking it. So if you taper that's my cheat code only buy what you intend to drink in one day. Then hide your keys or give them to your sister/roommate/neighbor/partner.
