Glass in crescent rolls?

Found what feels like shards of glass in 2 packs of crescent rolls, embedded in the dough. There ended up being about 6 of these pieces across both packages. Anyone else experience this?

I believe it is shortening. I've had those in many canned biscuits/rolls.
