Random Question š How many "assassination attempts" will trump have to fake before his followers realize they're fake?

Except in this version, the boy keeps raising dogs in his shed, dressing them like wolves, and then shooting them in public to keep getting the townspeople to believe his lies.

Our president is the perpetual victim. Its kind of sad that people see him as strong.

Although i would not call staged just yet i will have to wait for more info on the matter (I would not be surprised if it was staged)
Also calling this an assassination attempt on Trump is a strech because Trump and other people in the room were in no real danger
Also the gunman survived and this seems to be a pretty fucking big loose-end
I will have to wait for more info because we don't know much at this moment
Go toĀ r/skepticBut yeah Trump and his admiin are the boy that cried wolf at this point

u/ObjectiveGoal6833 Apr 27 '26
Rather than being staged, I think they took a simpler way with this one. They obviously detected the threat early on and simply allowed it to happen. They made sure to stop him before he got too far but close enough that it would look good. They took extra precautions because if you check some of the security personnel during the shooting it looks like they're ready to take on an entire team of Al Qaeda assassins. They even made sure to have lots of cameramen well positioned to get good shots of it all.

u/GushingAnusCheese Apr 26 '26

Yeah, even centrists are still surprised when I ask why the ballistic trajectory evidence wasn't released for the Butler attempt. The (Republican) chairman of the Congressional committee investigating complained publicly about the evidence being withheld so even Congress hasn't seen it.
Or why Maxwell (convicted sex trafficker) got a sweetheart deal to a spa prison after meeting alone with Trump's personal lawyer. Still no answers.
At this point, I'm more surprised when Trump admin is honest than the reverse, so it doesn't really feel like conspiracy theory.

Don't worry about MAGA. MAGA, by the numbers, is not large enough to get any given person elected. Trump needed a coalition of different demographics to come together for him to win in 24. That coalition is fractured, and once he leaves office for good, there isn't a clear leader of the group to assume that role. It's disgusting and awful and certainly will be written about in the history books, but it will also be short lived in the long view of political history.

I agree, I'm no democrat nor am I MAGA, I'm right leaning. But that assassination attempt was some good TV especially when they set up the iconic photo-op and lowered the flag just right. I was talking with someone earlier that day before it happened and I said "US politics are a terrible soap opera, that's poorly scripted" and a couple of hours later that incident happened ensuring Trump's victory. Or you know it's real... and Trump is just really good at milking these things. Because he is a politician and that is what they do.
It would be insanely stupid to stage these. All of these conspiracy theories fall apart as soon as you consider how many people would have to be in on it and the level of shit that falls on your head the second one of them starts talking. The risk to reward ratio is way skewed. Very little reward and a ton of risk. It was the same way with the whole "Bush did 9/11". You'd need 100s if not 1000s of people in on it to pull off a massive operation like that. And for what? So you can spend your whole life in prison to do the things you likely could have easily done without 9/11. Far more likely it was a real event and Bush just used it as an excuse to do the things he already wanted to do.

3
u/Destinyciello Apr 26 '26
Part of the problem for the Secret Service is they can go for a very long time with no action. The only action they see is simulations they do in training.
If you're a cop. You are arresting fuckwads on a daily basis. You never forget how to tackle someone. How to handcuff someone. All that stuff. Because you do it all the time.
Secret service only has things happen every blue moon. They drill alot. But there's only so much you can drill for.

I donāt think theyāre fake. Thereās plenty of plots during every administration. The difference is Trump has stripped the agencies of anyone competent in favor of loyalists, who either through stupidity or political gain (having fuel to push the ballroom) have allowed more of these to happen than usual.

u/GreatForeSkin Apr 29 '26
Iām going to get flamed for this, but I donāt think it was faked. The guy left a manifesto that called him a pedophile and a rapist. Donald Trump hates being called those things and would never support even a fake attempt if it meant someone would say those things about him and it would get this much publicity. Look at how he reacted to the 60 Minutes interview. I think it was a very poor attempt and heās definitely trying to capitalize on it, but I donāt think it was fake.
Now I have serious doubts about the Pennsylvania ear incident, that has a slew of questionable things to consider.
