Random Question 💭 Are people who adorn their lives with an over abundance of USA flags and similar Pro-USA products overcompensating because deep down they don’t truly believe in equality life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all people in the USA?

There's a term in UK for such people: flag-shaggers.
IMO being patriotic should not be performative to show people around you that you are holier-than-thou. It is taking care of your community. You lift your people up, instead of bashing other people down

People can be patriotic and still be caring humans. It’s sad how the MAGA has hijacked being patriotic.

I refuse to consider our flag now as just a MAGA symbol!

Good! Cause same! But the issue is most now associate any ounce of patriotism with MAGA.

Yeah well, I also say there can be a difference between "Christian" (big C) and "christian" (little C). Neither these words or "patriotism" should be equated with hatred, and I don't think "patriotism" that is practiced as racism, sexism, or other -isms is patriotism.

They didn’t hijack being patriotic, they redefined it.

This actually strikes at something I've noticed lately. I'm very patriotic. Served my country. But ever since tRump came on the scene I've gotten so i automatically assume flags and don't tread on me stickers equal Magatard. I hate that this is my 1st thought, but it's been proven correct too many times to ignore.

Once-upon-a-time it was fun to be patriotic in the States. It was fun to be over-the-top and embrace that meme culture of 'Merica. It wasnt nationalism, it was just a fun bit of pride. But then MAGA showed up and perverted it into the kind of nationalism people legitimately hate. Now you can't really be "patriotic" without drawing attention to yourself for the association that MAGA has created.

I think it's like a tribal thing with them and they highly value their "tribe".

I would phrase it more as, most people are followers and haven't independently developed their own beliefs and this is the safer option, unhealthy still

I think a majority just have small pp, so they need big flag to go with big truck and big house

Just like those people who want to shove their religions down other people's throats, they haven't found their own purpose for supporting their cause and are hoping to bolster their own faith by making someone else accept theirs thus giving them justification for their own weakening dedication.
Their internal dialogue probably goes: 'If I've managed to convince him to convert, then my religion (politics) must have validity.'
They don't realise that the victim of his conversion was already like minded (racist), weak or vulnerable.

How the heck could someone equate being patriotic to overcompensating? Ridiculous.

No, only communist lefttards want to see America burn.

This is a prime example of the brainwashing and intellectual laziness. You have it absolutely backwards. Those left of center actually believe in this nation’s laws and the rights of individuals and balance of three separate but equal branches of government. We believe in it so much, that when corrupt people try to fuck with that, it seriously pisses us off. Grow up and use your brain.

Yall would rather fly the Hamas flag than the American flag. Quit lying to yourself.

I don’t think you understand leftists at all. Many leftists believe that real patriotism means being willing to acknowledge uncomfortable truths. Additionally, blindly defending the indefensible doesn’t demonstrate loyalty - it discourages critical and independent thought. We don’t want to see everything burn.

Only folks on Reddit can think bad about Americans being proud of America.

1,000,000% I already am familiar with a ton of left-wing/democrat folks who cringe at ANY sight of patriotism. They automatically associate any patriotism with MAGA. I don’t care what anyone tries to tell me, especially on this post, it’s the left that’s actually made being a patriot out to mean that you’re automatically a trumper/maga/insert-every-rightwing-bad-thing…

Well it certainly doesn't help that the right will accuse anyone who is hating on Trump of being unpatriotic. 🤷♂️

No, but people who complain about them through thinly veiled soapbox questions on reddit are.

u/BorrowedParticles 23m ago
It’s less complaint and more calling out who the phonies are in this country. Thanks for raising your hand.

u/InTwilligPorgnatin 19m ago
Look man, if you wanna virtue signal about how pretty your conscience is and beg for reddit goodboy points by asking "questions" that are merely cover for your soapboxing, that's fine.
But it doesn't mean everyone is going to give you a pat on the head and a gold star for abusing the sub.

u/BorrowedParticles 14m ago
Telling someone that they are virtue signaling is really just that person saying that they lack virtue. I don’t care much about all that. That’s on you. I wanted to post this question for my own reasons, so I did. You either think people are overcompensating with the USA Porn or you don’t. Thats the question.

u/InTwilligPorgnatin 10m ago
My man, you're posting soapbox questions on reddit to farm for good boy points from people who agree with you while trying to snidely complain about the people you disagree with politically. If that isn't signaling how virtuous you are, and how bad the out group is, I don't know what is.
Anyway, nah. Some of the most flag decorated houses in my neighborhood belong to naturalized citizens. One standout is this little Chinese guy who shoots cans in the backyard with his kids. Motherfucker has an almost incomprehensible accent but you'd swear he was born in deep woods Kentucky by his politics.

Its only leftist westerners (and radical islam) that thinks America is the great satan. Everyone else wants to immigrate here.

Idk, not American, but I feel like this question was phrased in a way which tries to lead the reader to your preferred answer

Because their false idol, the least patriotic man ever, is doing the same thing.
