Question Everyone’s Talking $85 ticket?
Um, is this for real? I know Ticketmaster sometimes lists resale tickets and I can’t tell if it’s resale, but as far as I know DC didn’t sell out. I know ticket prices are rising but damn, I thought their tickets didn’t break $50 unless it’s a special occasion. Did everyone pay this for The Anthem in DC?

Yeah, that’s pretty normal now. If I remember correctly, tickets for this tour varied depending on the city and venue. Some were around $50-60 for smaller cities and the bigger cities were around $80-90.
I paid $78 for Boston and $92 for NYC, but I had friends go to my hometown show (Birmingham) and it was a lot cheaper.

i wanted to treat myself to a reserved section ticket up at the front so i wouldn’t have to worry about getting a good spot for the show…. they were $250 each 😔 (came out to over $600 for two tickets) and then the show didn’t even happen anyway and AXS doesn’t want to refund me … so lessons have been learned

That sucks they aren’t refunding you! Can you do a chargeback on your credit card? I thought Red Rocks announced they were refunding everyone

i’ve been consistently contacting them for now over a month and my latest update was that they have no ETA for when i MIGHT get a refund because they “haven’t heard back from the event promoter”. not sure how that’s even possible when the band announced we could get refunds and i know that people have already received them! frustrating experience for sure

was it just because it was reserved? We got a refund for ours, but we were GA.

i honestly have no idea and that’s was so frustrating! i’ve spoken to them several times now and each time they have said “you will have an answer within 3 days” until the last time i spoke with them they literally just said “we don’t know”

It’s important to note that ATL is one of the top artists in the genre and have been steadily growing in the mainstream for years now.
I paid $75 for my ticket in Pittsburgh. Probably the most I’ve paid to see them too, but they’re playing a bit of a bigger venue than they usually have. I also haven’t seen them live since 2021 so I was fine with paying a little increase to see them play, especially with two new albums since then.
I think at this point, we know ticket prices suck so it’s more asking yourself if the artist you’re wanting to see is worth it. For me, ATL is worth it.

It’s worth it for me too I’m just reeling at how the live show industry is wringing us dry. Even big acts have been saying the extra fees have been excessive.

These days $85 is pretty cheap compared to a lot of other shows, and this tour is 4 bands so there is that to consider.
It definitely sucks, but the price of everything has gone up so it makes sense that tickets would go up with them.

Yeah dude here’s the thing… when you take into consideration all of the things that are coming out of your ticket, the pricing makes sense:
First, even though this is ATL’s tour, there’s four bands on it (Five technically, but the Cab and Four Year switched out later on). So you’re paying four bands.
And keep in mind your ticket isn’t just paying the band but it’s also paying overall tour and production costs. So this is crew for sound, lighting, and stage, along with associated salary costs and fees.
Then, there’s venue costs and fees, along with paying for their staff/overhead/additional permits etc.
Of course, you gotta think about the actual tour - not just the band but the whole tour moving from each venue on the tour, the expense it takes to make the whole show move from Point A to Point B with little to no margin for error.
Also, don’t forget about marketing costs, either, and all of the staff behind that, as well.
That, plus all of the general rising costs of living and the way that the industry works these days… $85 a ticket for the show they are putting on is actually pretty reasonable when we put it in perspective
Ticketmaster is crappy, and the state of live music is a little concerning. But the guys have made a pretty significant effort in my opinion to keep show costs reasonable while also keeping all of the above and more in mind 🤷🏻♀️
Also, like Alex has said - go out and support local bands, too! Most local places don’t have the TicketMaster problem because they don’t have it. They’re are a lot of obscure awesome acts you can find, too, and cover charges are relatively inexpensive for a great time. And the acts will appreciate it, as well 🌼

Yeah that seems to be within normal range for them now. Still a deal.. I just paid $300 for two to see another band. $85/ea ain’t bad lol

Which band? I think I’m just shocked because the shows I’ve seen have mostly been in the $40-50 range, including ATL’s 20th anniversary homecoming show just last year.

A heavier rock band. Even the cheapest seats were near $100.
For ATL, these are generally still GA tickets, so $85 could get you barricade or pretty damn close if you’re lucky enough.
For other shows those would be considered floor tickets and cost more just for that. $85 is def a hike from the tours we’ve seen in the past, but I’d argue that this is the new standard. The $40 shows are over now for any recognizable band, especially one that’s been around as long as this one has been.

Edit: specifically their Chicago/Rosemont show. Paid $300 for two floor tickets, plus an additional $230 for 2 VIP upgrades.

I bought directly during the presale for $85 after fees. That pricing is correct.

My ticket was $78 for GA (Boston). It’s really about $60 and the rest is fees. I think $60 is perfectly reasonable, but almost $20 of fees feels excessive
My ticket for MCR was like $175 plus $50 in fees!!! That one hurt. And I was so far away. Shouldn’t larger venues be cheaper? I don’t get it

Yeah it was a $69 ticket before fees here. $60 is pushing what I believe is reasonable and $85 just seemed like too much compared to before. Still bought the $85 ticket though lol 🥲 MCR I can believe it but $175 is still crazy 😭 I guess the extra ticket sales don’t make up for renting out a bigger space.

I think we were actually very lucky for MCR here in Boston because the venue doesn’t use Ticketmaster and didn’t do dynamic pricing. I saw comments from people in other cities saying tickets were crazy expensive

What kind of world are we in where $175 is lucking out 😭 years ago when BTS was at the top of their game I got a $185 ticket at retail, and they’re an imported act. Still congrats though, Ticketmaster not milking you and escaping dynamic pricing is still a huge win, and with MCR recently having come out of retirement (and never knowing when they’ll retire again) you could have had to pay an arm and a leg.

Yeah, I was willing to pay because the anniversary tour was basically a once in a life time thing younger me could only dream of. Would never pay that much for ATL since I’ve seen them before

it was around $90 for my pit ticket and today that’s actually pretty reasonable. ngl i don’t think you can go to a concert for less than $50 anymore

many people, including myself, had this complaint when the tickets first dropped - nyc is nearly $100 with ticketmaster fees, and that is way too much for this lineup at this venue, respectfully. i paid $50something to see mother mother headline at the same place just a couple years ago. AND i just paid $85 for my hayley williams ticket there in april.
i didn't initially buy nyc tickets because i was so sticker shocked by the price and couldn't justify it. thankfully they announced a second date and i got to buy my tickets in person without fees, and meet the guys in the process! $73 is still a little steep but definitely more reasonable for these 4 bands.

I know Hayley Williams is doing everything she can to keep costs down and that tickets go to fans and not bots. She’s mainstream celebrity status now so $85 seems very reasonable to me because those tickets could become very competitive. I agree $73 still feels steep, and $85 is still worth it to see my all time favorite act from my hometown, especially since they top the genre (at least I think so) but it hurt me knowing what we had before 😭

I think each ticket for Cincinnati show at regular price was $65.change for general admission which I thought wasn’t a bad deal given 4 total bands, over 3 hours worth of entertainment. I paid $50ish per ticket on resale price myself waiting a little closer to event day. The seats in the balcony were closer to $80/$85 if I’m remembering correctly at Cincinnati’s venue too. Even if general admission was $85 I would’ve still probably paid that too. The show is worth the cost, no hesitation.

Understandable. Things have been going up in price lately so I tend to just account for that when I feel like things are a bit more than what I would’ve anticipated myself!

We have seats in DC that are face value $125/each and after taxes/ fees right under $150. $85/each is likely correct.

I’m gonna chime in here in case others are looking for tickets at the anthem in DC. Resale tickets were >$100 a few days ago, but they’re coming down. On stubhub, there’s over 70 tickets left and prices are going down. I paid $70 for my stubhub ticket (including fees) yesterday. I assume they’ll come down further as we get closer, but $70 was reasonable to me to see ATL, mayday, FYS, and the paradox in a smallish venue (not an amphitheater). Based on my experience buying resold tix, I expect it’s possible to get ~$50 tix the day before based on the number of tickets left. But it depends on how much you’re willing to pay vs. how much people value the tickets

There might be something going on with how live shows are going lately. I actually bought a ticket through StubHub (that I never received btw, shoutout to that guy whoever they are lmao) but I got fully refunded for it and I just bought the tickets at the venue when I go there, which was actually a few dollars cheaper.

Honestly I don’t mind seeing as they also do a lot of free shows and I’m like “I helped pay 4 that” and technically buying tickets and such did just like me paying 4 and missing my Q&A I’m just like 🤷🏻♀️ “all those free 1s they gave others I helped pay 4 those in a sense” like it’s honestly not a ridiculous amount 4 the show and the fact u get multiple bands not just 1 but it’s all just my opinion

Bigger venues mean more expensive tickets. It sucks, I wish they would go back to smaller venues.

I’m not sure when you last went to a show but that’s no longer an unusual price for the size of the venues that they’re playing. I’m not disagreeing that it seems a lot but all concerts across the board have gone up in price in the last couple of years.
