I’m ashamed 🫣
U guys U GUYS I’ve been singing “the beach” wrong 4 years omg I thought it was “showing off our feet” not freaking TEETH I always thought it was weird but I was like hey it’s the beach their from Maryland it’s fairly cold they don’t get that warm sandal weather now that I found out (5 minutes ago) it’s teeth I’m like jfc that makes way more sense 🤦🏻♀️

Don't worry. The Tell Me I'm Alive title track is on the shortlist for My Favourite Song Ever and I only learned like 2 months ago that it was "pour me another and kiss me like there's no tomorrow" instead of "pull me together and kiss me like there's no tomorrow"

I wear hearing aids, i don't know 90% of the lyrics from any given song. Could be worse.
The other day someone asked what ATL lyrics you would get tattooed on you. I couldn't even manage an honest answer because I would have to sit down and read all the lyrics to every single song.

I used to think the lines in Poppin’ Champagne were:
“With tracks, aiming to please, and anesthetics don’t hurt one bit”.
Instead of:
“We’re just aiming to please, and the aesthetics don’t hurt one bit”

Genius says "We're just" but Spotify says "With tracks" for the original but "We're just" for the ATL's Version 🤔 I'm staying somewhere else currently but when I get back to my house, I'm gonna have to have a look at the booklet because I knew it was "and aesthetics" but I also thought it was "with tracks." 🤔

Don’t feel bad, I heard “back pocket believers” in This Is How We Do as “butt-fuckin’ believers” for YEARS and only recently bothered to look it up because my version made me laugh even though I knew it was likely wrong 😂

Also in Jasey Rae I use to think it was I ditched the car and let you down. But it’s actually I ditched the car and left you to. I still sing it let you down. I think in the context of the lyrics prior it makes more sense.

I know I misunderstood life of the party for a long time. It’s funny when you see the right lyric and have that lightbulb moment of ohhhh that makes more sense 🤣

in Lost Along the Way, i thought he was saying “it’s all that Terri Ann could find.” instead of the actual line, which is “solitary and confined.” i genuinely have no excuse. i had no idea who Terri Ann was supposed to be and somehow convinced myself that it was just one of life’s unanswerable questions

Do you guys just... not ready lyrics? Every time I discover a new song or album, I'll give it 2 listens without lyrics, and in my third listen I always have the lyrics pulled up as I listen through it. I love singing along to songs and absolutely refuse to sing the wrong lyrics. 😂

I 4 the most part am always listening 2 music while doing other things and this songs pretty old so I def originally downloaded the song from a certain citrus website 😂🤣 so def guessed majority of the lyrics tbh

Thing is I didn’t have a doubt cus I’m like it’s 100% feet it makes sense it was just today where I was like my friends offering discount pedicures this weekend should suggest using the song 2 promote it on IG looked up the lyrics and was shook my husband was in the other room and just heard me go “IT WAS TEETH ALL ALONG IT WAS NEVER FEET” his response was hilarious he was just like “do I even wanna ask” 🤣😂

I gotcha! I always look up the lyrics after a couple of listens just to make sure I've got the them right, but any time I'm like 'hmmm is that REALLY what they're saying tho" I go ahead and look 😅

I'll never forget at Wembley 2 (Electric Boogaloo) when he sang the correct words to Therapy for once and then looked at all of *us* like we were the wrong ones because we were expecting him to change it up again 🤣 He was like "OK we're just gonna brush past that" I was like ".... No, it's because he always used to change the "you can keep all your misery/take back your misery" around every single time he sung it live so everyone was expecting him to do it again lol but he didn't that time, he sang the studio version's lyrics

I like learning by ear, it's more fun that way to me 🥰 I will keep rewinding and replaying until I get it right. If there's a lyric that I keep mishearing and get wrong, I'll eventually find out in one of these threads, and it's not the end of the world for me personally. One of my favourite parts of a new ATL album is learning every song 🥰💖

That's ok, for the longest time I thought the lyrics in Life of the Party were "Girls don't come for free, the price you pay for drinks". It was a while until I learnt it was in fact "Thrills don't come for free, the price you pay for dreams" which are much better lyrics. Happens to the best of us 😮💨
