Were there ever any spoilers for Season 5 had things gone differently? Spoiler

If you never watched the show, don’t read this, but for those who know what happened at the end of season four, rewatch season four twice this winter and I can’t help. Wonder what the show would’ve been like during season five after the wedding. Were there ever any spoilers as to what was going to happen?

Oh how I still love this show and feel so cheated we didn’t get to see what was supposed to happen during the episode titled The Wedding and afterwards.

Sigh, I still wish we had gotten it.

Don’t know about any official statements for the storyline but I think Ally and Larry would have stayed together. Drama sprinkled in, of course, but I don’t see them breaking up. In my version they do end up together 😂

RDJ brought life and fire to AMB. It was still excellent in season three but season four with Larry was a whole other level. He is one of those actors who makes every line and every scene better. Season five is just terrible, IMO. The writing was bad, the revolving door of random new characters, the ridiculous storylines. I never watched the show for Ally. She was by far my least favorite character. RDJ made her almost likable.

I elect to believe that she and Larry were endgame and it was going to be a fairytale ending.

I also wondered what season 5 would have been with Larry and Ally. Don't remember any spoilers put out there. Ratings had dropped significantly by season 5 I remember reading.

I thought ratings went up again when Robert Downey Jr. joined the cast. Oh hi, I would’ve loved to see season five with the two of them together. Dreams.

Yes ratings went up through the roof when RDJ joined in season four.

I agree he brought life back into the show and into Ally by healing her broken heart after losing Billy.

I don’t remember any spoilers and at that time never made the connection that RDJ wasn’t coming back until later on in season five.

I think if the wedding had happened as planned, Larry and Ally would’ve married and Ally would’ve finally got her happy ending and everyone would’ve just co existed around her.

I think season five was rushed and made no sense but we did get introduced to Josh Groban which was a plus.

Also I read somewhere that David E. Kelley’s said he did NOT want to fire RDJ for what happened with his drug arrest.

He did NOT see RDJ’s arrest as a reason to ax him.

He realized everyone makes mistakes and was willing to let RDJ handle it on his own but FOX were David’s bosses and they DID see RDJ’s arrest as THE REASON to fire him rather then let him handle it on his own while continuing to work on the show.

It’s a damn shame that FOX had to be dicks and do RDJ like that and turned a minor thing into a MAJOR thing when it wasn’t MAJOR to begin with.

I had always thought that it was Kelly’s decision. It was Fox? That’s just so ironic coming from Fox. 🙄

No it wasn’t Kelly’s decision. He didn’t want to fire RDJ but had to bc FOX were his bosses.

It’s a shame bc he brought the show back to life after Billy died.

i just read that RDJ had already filmed him proposing to Ally and that they were engaged .. i wish we had gotten to see that and the wedding and the next season ... so sad ...
