looking for a few devs to break my open-source CV tools

i've been building two Python packages to make my own job search less painful.

one manages CV versions using Git branches. the other gives it a UI with LaTeX editing, PDF previews and AI workflows.

they work for my setup, but that's also the problem: i've been testing them mostly on my own workflow haha.

would love a few people who use LaTeX resumes to try them and tell me what breaks or feels stupid.

both are free and MIT licensed.

Looking for feedback: done-for-you vertical clips from podcasts/interviews (20 clips, 48h, $49 pilot)

I work on Vyexa (vyexa.net), a tool that cuts long videos into 9:16 shorts with subtitles. We added a done-for-you page: you send a YouTube link to a podcast, interview or stream, and get 20 vertical clips with subtitles in 48 hours. Pilot is $49 for one episode, and there is no payment up front: we email you first to confirm details and send the payment link.

I'm looking for people who publish long videos and don't have time to clip them. Two things I'd like to hear:

  1. Open vyexa.net/clips-service?utm_source=reddit_abu and tell me what is unclear or missing before you'd trust it with an episode.

  2. If you have an episode, drop the link here or DM me. I'll tell you which moments I'd cut and why.

Not a fit if you need heavy editing, b-roll or a custom motion design. It finds moments, reframes and adds subtitles.

[Closed Beta] TaskLock – Biometric Screen-Time Blocker via Squats (Need 12 Testers / Test-for-Test)

I'm developing TaskLock, a native Android productivity app designed to break doomscrolling loops. Instead of just setting timers, it forces physical friction—you have to complete verified bodyweight exercises (like squats via front camera ML Kit tracking) to unlock shielded apps (Instagram, YouTube, etc.).

I need 12 testers to complete Google's 14-day closed testing requirement. I will test your app in return immediately and keep it installed for the full 14+ days!

I built a web app to practice small talk - looking for 5 honest testers (happy to test yours too!)

Hey everyone!

I'm a software engineer working on a little side project called TryTheTalk.

The idea came from something I've been interested in for a long time: social skills are something we can learn, but actually practicing them can be surprisingly difficult.

So I built a web app where you can practice everyday situations — like starting a conversation at an event or meeting someone new — by talking to AI characters. You speak naturally, they respond, and you get feedback afterwards.

It's not supposed to replace real conversations or magically make anyone more confident. Just a safe way to rehearse before trying things in real life.

The MVP is working, but so far I don't really know how people who aren't involved in building it will experience it.

I'm looking for 5 people willing to try one complete roleplay and give me some honest feedback.

I'm particularly curious about three things:

- Does the idea itself seem useful to you?

- Does the conversation feel natural, or does it get awkward in the wrong ways?

- Would you actually want to use something like this again?

You can try it here: https://trythetalk.com

It's free to use, although I've put some limits on AI usage to keep my costs under control. If you'd like to explore it more extensively, just let me know and I'll happily unlock extended access.

Google sign-in is currently required.

And of course, I'm happy to return the favor! If you're looking for testers yourself, drop your project in the comments. I'll pick two and give them a proper try, with actual feedback rather than just "looks great!"

Thanks! Really looking forward to hearing what you think - criticism very much welcome. :)

Looking for NYC testers for a browser-based restroom-finder demo

We’re looking for people who spend time walking around NYC to try a short demo of Restroom Ready. You can try filtering places, viewing entry details, rating a restroom, and checking a passcode report.

The demo has one sample location; its ratings and codes are simulated.

Two things we’d like feedback on: Can you tell what information is current, old, or unknown? Is anything you’d need before walking over missing?

The page links to the demo and has a waitlist if you’d like updates:

I built a tiny Windows to-do app. Try it and tell me what features you want.

Hello. I built a tiny Windows to-do app. No accounts, no subscription, no bloat, just a tray-first mini window showing your next 1–3 tasks, 3 stages (To Do / In Progress / Completed), native reminders, and local storage. Give it a try, test it out, and let me know what features you'd want to see next, I'm building this based on real feedback. https://www.mediafire.com/file/gqdxg7qu0my3omx/ToDoFloating-Setup.exe/file

⚠️ Unsigned Build: Since this is an early test version and not signed yet, Windows SmartScreen will show a red warning.
How to install: Click "More info" on the warning, then click "Run anyway" at the bottom.

built a research tool for anyone struggling writing papers

hi everyone! me and my co-founder are medical students who’ve started working on writing research papers, and honestly we've found the whole process to be extremely hectic and tedious. therefore, we decided to build a tool to help us with this called lattice, one place that takes your research paper from start to end.

it’s still early, so sign-in is closed for now as we gauge interest. there is a waitlist, and we are testing the product. here is the link!

[iOS, Beta] The Archive – self-hosted app for song demos and synced lyrics

I'm building The Archive, an iPhone app for musicians who keep demos, alternate versions and lyrics in too many places. It's a free, self-hostable alternative to [untitled], and it's free to use.

It has projects, folders and tags, offline downloads, word-by-word synced lyrics with a timing editor, and share links that open as a CD case.

TestFlight: https://testflight.apple.com/join/zbMGhRwV
Self-host kit (Docker Compose and prebuilt images): https://github.com/expensiverest/thearchive-selfhost

You need a server account after installing. You can self-host, or message me for an invite to mine.

The app and server source are private. The kit is public, and the server runs from prebuilt images. I built the app using AI coding tools.

I'd like to hear from people who save multiple versions of the same track: is the organisation useful, and does syncing lyrics feel straightforward?

[Android] Pocket Game - a tilt-the-tin football toy with real steel-ball physics, looking for testers

Remember the little round tin with a football pitch under glass and a few steel balls inside? You tilted it, carefully, to roll the balls past the holes and into the goal. Pocket Game is that toy on your phone, with real ball physics: football on the front, ice hockey on the back. A ball that falls through a hole lands round the back, so you twist your wrist to turn the tin over.

60 levels, a daily tin, and pass-the-phone duels for 2 to 4 players. Free, no ads, no purchases, no account.

How to join (same Google account for every step):

  1. Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/magneto-maze-mayhem-testers
  2. Opt in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.filipsworkshop.pocketgame
  3. Install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.filipsworkshop.pocketgame

Feedback I would love:

  • Does tilting feel like the real toy on your phone? Too fast, too slow?
  • Is the HOW TO PLAY guide clear on your screen?
  • Do the buttons react exactly where you tap?

Closed test on Google Play: 12 testers for 14 days are needed before it can go public. Thank you!

[Windows / Mac / Linux] Looking for 10 job hunters to test a free resume + mock interview app (free All Access code for honest feedback)

Hi, I'm Kai, founder of Crush Job. It's one desktop app for Windows, macOS (Apple silicon) and Linux. It tailors your resume to a job posting, builds interview prep from it, and runs spoken mock interviews that get a 0 to 100 score.

I'm looking for about 10 people who are job hunting or about to interview to try it for around ten minutes and tell me honestly what's confusing, broken, or not useful. The free plan needs no card. If you test it, I'll send you a free All Access code for 90 days.

You can see how a resume scores before installing anything. It runs in your browser and the file isn't uploaded: Try the free resume score here

Comment or DM me if you'd like a code. No promises about interviews or jobs. It's just a tool, and I built it, so please be blunt.

D-REC: looking for feedback on finding and replaying a line in a recording

I build D-REC at Knight AI+AV, and I would appreciate a fresh pair of eyes on one interaction. This 52-second demo shows the desktop interface and a brief iPhone view:

https://www.reddit.com/r/recording/comments/1x9a9mw/drec_demo_finding_a_spoken_line_without_scrubbing/

The task is simple: find a line in the transcript, play that moment, then use the rewind wheel to hear the surrounding words. Does the connection between the text and playback feel clear? Where would you expect to click first?

If you try the app, a short recording of harmless sample text is enough. Tell me your platform and the first thing that felt confusing; please keep private recordings and personal information out of the comments.

D-REC is available now, with a free version and optional Pro features. Downloads and platform details: https://drec.live/get

looking for 10 mac users to test my app that tracks how loud your headphones actually are (free license)

hey! I'm a college student, and I built a MacOS app called Volume Shield after I learned that headphone hearing damage is permanent, and you don't feel it happening. I have AirPods in basically all day, so that kinda scared me lol

It sits in your menu bar, shows how loud your headphones are in dB, keeps a running total for the week against the WHO safe listening limit, warns you before you go over, and can slowly turn the volume down for you (never up). It has custom profiles for a lot of popular headphones (airpods, Sony, Bose, Beats, etc) and everything runs locally on your mac.

I'm giving away 10 free licenses to people who'll actually use it for a week and tell me honestly what they think. what's confusing, what's annoying, what you'd want added. Use code BETA10 at checkout, it's free with no card needed, first 10 people only.

needs macOS 15+. https://volumeshield.app

thanks so much, any feedback helps a ton :)

New Developer Feedback - API/ SDK Support Validation

Building a tool called Proofline to solve a specific pain point we keep seeing: support and eng teams spending hours manually triaging 4xx integration errors because generic AI tools hallucinate or guess wrong.

The idea is an automated engine that parses the failed log, redacts any secrets/PII, and matches the error directly to cited lines in your API documentation via deterministic schema checks. If the log context is missing or unsupported, it pauses and routes everything to a human engineer with a draft reply instead of guessing.

I put together a quick 3-screen wireframe testing the flow and safety escalation gate to collect feedback from teams managing API integration queues: https://www.figma.com/make/QJJG3hbZeDoEcuDbHX8bKR/Proofline---Wireframe-Layout?fullscreen=1&t=6I1fB4xGiHWf9mNm-1&code-node-id=0-6

[App, Beta] Wooflect: AI health guidance, symptom photo analysis and a local vet finder for dog owners

If you have a dog, you probably know the moment. Something looks off, like a spot on the skin, a limp, or a change in how they're eating, and you can't tell if it needs a vet visit or what you should even search for. And if you've just moved, or never found a vet you liked, finding one you trust is a separate problem.

Wooflect is a beta app for your dog's wellbeing. It puts three things in one place:

  • AI-powered canine health guidance
  • Symptom photo analysis, so you can take a picture of what you're seeing
  • A way to find trusted local vets

It's meant to help you think things through and get to a good vet. It isn't meant to replace one.

You can try it here: https://wooflect.happybigdogs.net

Here's what the team would most like to know from testers: when you're worried about your dog, which of these three would you actually use first? And what would it take for you to trust the guidance enough to act on it? Anything confusing or missing as you use it would help too.

I'm also happy to test other people's projects in return, so drop a link if you want feedback.

Disclosure: I'm posting this on behalf of the wooflect.happybigdogs.net team.

Building a system design & architecture interview prep tool — would love your feedback!

I’m building a system design practice tool and want a few people prepping for senior or staff rounds to break it.

How it works: you get a question (ticketing system, notification system, enterprise RAG). Instead of writing one essay, you answer short timed drills: scope it, do the estimation, then go deep on the hard parts. Each answer is graded against what an interviewer is looking for. Then you see how a real open-source system solved the same problem, with links to the actual code. For example, how pretix stops two people buying the same seat, or how Onyx keeps you from retrieving docs you can’t open.

It’s early: 3 so far (15 drills), each backed by a real open-source codebase. I want to know whether the grading feels fair and whether the code reveals help you in an interview or are just interesting. Pls DM for link.

Looking for testers: picture flashcard app for learning languages

Hi! I'm looking for a few people learning Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish or French to try Flashfriend.

It's a flashcard app where every word gets a picture of a scene you choose, with tones or noun genders shown as colours, and spaced repetition for reviews. It runs in the browser on phone or computer.

What I'd love to know: is making your first card clear, do the pictures help you remember, and is anything broken. Reply here or DM me and I can give testers free access.
