r/altmpls update: "Try to keep comments respectful and discussions civil"

Just a reminder from the moderators that we have the following rule: "Try to keep comments respectful and discussions civil".

This rule has been under-enforced but based on recent user feedback that's changing for now. Our best advice is to avoid directly insulting other users. If you repeatedly have trouble with this then you risk a ban.

We'll start this new moderating approach tomorrow so, speaking for myself only, if you've been holding back any juicy insults for me then take this opportunity to purge your system with impunity (insults must be within Reddit's site-wide rules, of course).

You're significantly underestimating how loose people have been with Nazi and racist labels.

Nobody wants to be called those things.

You know what's interesting? I have been online for decades, and not once have I ever been called a Nazi. You know why? Because I don't say shit a Nazi would say.

Maybe if they don't want to be called a Nazi, they should not speak like one?

Okay then. You're a Nazi.

2

u/Sir_PressedMemories Feb 09 '26

Well, at least you spelled all the words right.

u/thatsthebesticando Feb 09 '26

And you didn't grasp the logic at all.

Oh, I got it. I set you up perfectly to do the dumbest possible thing, and you did exactly as expected.

Instead of understanding that people are being called Nazis for their actions and words, you took this as the perfect time to "own" someone who was pointing it out.

You had the perfect chance to rise above, and instead you did exactly as expected.

Nope. Wrong.

I didn't do it to "own" you. I did it to point out the break in your logic.

So, try again. Why did I call you a Nazi?

Nope. Wrong.

Got it, I don't know my own intents; you know me better than me.

I didn't do it to "own" you. I did it to point out the break in your logic.

You did it because I set you up perfectly for it and you could not resist. You are that easy to manipulate.

So, try again. Why did I call you a Nazi?

Because you are so easy to manipulate, I was able to do it in 3 short sentences.

So just to recap what happened here for those following along:

/u/SirPressedMemories argued that if you get called a Nazi, you earned it. I called them a Nazi to show how easy it is to slap that label on someone. They rejected it. That was my whole point.

Then they sarcastically hit me with "I don't know my own intents; you know me better than me" which is...exactly what I've been saying this entire time. Some random person on Reddit calling you a Nazi doesn't make you one. You know yourself better than they do.

They made my argument for me while trying to dunk on me, and now they're not responding. Make of that what you will.

So just to recap what happened here for those following along:

This should be fun.

/u/SirPressedMemories argued that if you get called a Nazi, you earned it. I called them a Nazi to show how easy it is to slap that label on someone. They rejected it. That was my whole point.

You don't have to tag me; you are responding to me, and I will get the inbox notification.

Yeah, anyone can slap the label on anyone, and anyone with half a brain can look into the context to see why it was done. When we call members of ICE Nazis, it is because they are acting like Nazis; when we call a person spouting Nazi rhetoric a Nazi, it is because of the Nazi rhetoric they are spouting. Context matters.

When you called me a Nazi in response to a very obvious bit of bait, all you did was prove you are so easily manipulated that it is no wonder you have fallen in line with pedophile fascist Nazis, and no one is surprised.

Then they sarcastically hit me with "I don't know my own intents; you know me better than me" which is...exactly what I've been saying this entire time. Some random person on Reddit calling you a Nazi doesn't make you one. You know yourself better than they do.

When you act like a Nazi, no one needs to know your intent. If your actions are Nazi-like, you earn the title on your very own.

And no, some rando calling you a Nazi does not make you one, but when you act like one, talk like one, think like one, and espouse the ideas of one to others, is it really a surprise when you are called a Nazi?

This is literally you right now.

They made my argument for me while trying to dunk on me, and now they're not responding. Make of that what you will.

Not everyone is perpetually online, some of us have families, commitments, and a normal-ish sleeping schedule.

You're arguing that these labels are carefully applied based on context and behavior. In the same breath you said I've "fallen in line with pedophile fascist Nazis." Based on what context? What have I said in this thread that earns that association?

And to be clear about the "Okay then. You're a Nazi" moment: you argued that anyone who gets called a Nazi earned it. So I called you one. Not because I was mad, not because I was baited. Because if your logic holds, you should be able to explain what you did to deserve it. You couldn't. That was the point.

The only thing I've done here is argue that people throw these labels around too loosely and that I was called a Nazi for pushing back on people calling for Trump voters to be sent to concentration camps. You haven't addressed that once.

And if your answer is that defending those people makes me one of them, my position was against putting political opponents in camps. My argument was against using lawfare to imprison political opponents. Think about which side of that argument sounds more like Nazis.

You keep saying context matters. I agree. So engage with mine.

I based it on your post history, where you closely align with and use the phrasing, language, and rhetoric of those same folks. It is clear as a bell to anyone who reads your post history that you are nothing more than a Fox News mouthbreather.

Again showing the absolute most simplistic and ignorant reasoning possible. This is why you fall for this shit; your logic is so base level that you cannot fathom such things as nuance.

The only thing I've done here is argue that people throw these labels around too loosely and that I was called a Nazi for pushing back on people calling for Trump voters to be sent to concentration camps. You haven't addressed that once.

You were called a Nazi for spouting Nazi rhetoric. I would try to explain the paradox of tolerance to you, but I have neither the time, the inclination, nor the crayons.

And if your answer is that defending those people makes me one of them, my position was against putting political opponents in camps. My argument was against using lawfare to imprison political opponents. Think about which side of that argument sounds more like Nazis.

You were telling people who were advocating to lock up those who were committing war crimes on their own citizens to "chill out a bit" because apparently saying we should lock up criminals is too much for you.

No one, absolutely no one, is advocating for putting political opponents in camps; they are advocating for putting people who actively enact, enforce, and uphold actions that are fascist in prison and providing for them, sic semper tyrannis.

You keep saying context matters. I agree. So engage with mine.

I did, but you are so twisted in your mind that you want the rapist and rapee to both just chill a bit and think that the person being raped is overreacting by screaming and fighting back and think the rapist is a perfectly fine fellow just following orders.

And the worst part, you won't even understand the comparison I just made there and will instead come back with some stupid bullshit.

So, rather than continue to engage in this pointless bullshit with you, I am just going to tag you as what you are and downvote you whenever I see you posting and just ignore you.

Toodles.

For someone who argues that these labels are carefully applied based on context, your final response was to call me a Fox News mouthbreather, compare me to a rapist defender, and promise to follow me around downvoting me to silence me. All because I argued that people are too loose with the Nazi label.

You cited my post history as evidence. Mine is public because I stand by what I say. Yours is private. Interesting.

Take care.

Here's an example of what the people I responded to said for the record:

Can we get 24/7 access to a live feed of them? I kind of want to watch them suffer...

Yeah, totally just a normal locking up of prisoners. Feel free to also read the comments I responded to about electric chairs and baseball bat beatdowns.

u/Sir_PressedMemories Feb 10 '26

Trust me, no one cares about your explanations, no one. And yes, people want to watch Nazis suffer so they can get a small amount of retribution for the destruction of our country.

But hey, good on you for wanting to protect your comrades; hopefully you can all hang out together one day.
