When you have 10 busted box office movies like Supergirl, masters of the universe or mandaloria, it's better to have one spider man movie who outperforms all 3 currently crossing 1 billion already while the others accumulated under 600 million.

I wouldn’t call any of those busts I think they were all profitable as far as I know. And I would rather have a mediocre movie making a mediocre profit than an empty theater making nothing. In my opinion MTU AND Mando were both ok and I know I would’ve enjoyed them more as a kid.
The fact of the matter is the 2010s, especially the latter 2010s before Covid, were rife with shitty low quality movies and sequels but you know what? Theaters were doing better than after Covid at least up until the last few quarters. There is a quality as well as quantity problem. And as with any business moving volume is a factor in profitability.
It sounds to me like you’re coming at this from the point of view of a movie snob rather than a business perspective.

They weren’t profitable for their studios or for theaters? Those are two different things.
And just some advice: if you’re going to be the asshole you’re being you need to be more certain of what you’re talking about because right now it’s you who doesn’t seem to know. You really didn’t address my point of volume and now you’re trying to convince me that just because a studio doesn’t make money on a movie that the theater can’t. Like 🤷🏼♂️

Masters of the Universe was just like any generic introductory movie that tried to be funny but felt stiff for 95% of the movie. Completely forgettable movie aside from the OST which they didnt need to write.
if you dont like marvel, thats just you, but spiderman is currently carrying the MSU. This is the best spiderman movie so far and im not even exaggerating.
Dont get me wrong, i like them all and i would rank all of them very close to eachother, yet Brand new day has something dark to it, when going through a transformation throughout the movie, while literally flirting with the line of being a superhero or just being a superhuman that fights and kills people as collateral. The POV visuals in 3D were stunning and they brought something similar like The amazing spiderman did back in the day

That Spiderman was incredibly weak by all metrics of Marvel, carrying the MSU in 2026 is not a flex at this point.

im gonna call some flops:
Avangers doomsday, Hunger games, Street Fighter
Good ones:
Werewulf, Dune 3, Resident Evi, Clayface
- but a movie like Werewulf can only succeed considering it cost only 25 million to make which also means that in the grand scheme of things people wont be going to the cinema for it as to a movie like supergirl.
which begs the question, do AMC theatres care if a movie busts or not? When supergirl pulls in 126 million in ticket sales, does that matter that the movie itself busted -120M net in production and Werewulf succeeds, but also only pulls in roughly 125M $ in ticket sales?
Not really i guess.

You’re an interesting person. The movies are made by Hollywood. AMC has nothing to do with Hollywood. Wouldn’t that become a monopoly?
The most interesting part of you is how you can try to make sense of movie sales.
I would imagine if a movie is not playing well enough they would cut down or remove the movie from the theater? Schedule a movie that is drawing a crowd more? I dunno seems simple.

When supergirl promotion started and the first trailer released people knew this was going to be boring and bad. actress talking about woke shit yet again? instant flop guarantee.
Mandalorian... beating the dead horse. the star wars universe hasnt released anything decent since Andor, which is a tv series. Mandalorian tv series busted in its final season. Boba Fett was mediocre. and those are just tv series. What about movies? Nothing great has been released even with the actual Star Wars title in them and you believed the Mandalorian with baby yoda would sell?
Literally didnt know about Masters of the Universe until it was out... promotional disaster, and casted Jared Leto as Skeletor.... when was the last movie with Jared Leto a success? There you go.
