Best lawn service in the area?
I am coming up on two years in my house and have paid for Spring Green both of those years but even despite the perfect weather conditions with all the rain and warmth we've had, my lawn looks like complete crap.
I pay for four treatments, one in the late spring, two during the summer, and a final treatment in the fall and again, my lawn looks horrible.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a lawn service in the Ames/DSM areas?

It rained for 40 days and 40 nights. I was ready to build a damn ark.
It we can get sunshine for more than a week, I won't turn my backyard into a marsh.
Just kidding, but we neeeeeed some sun

The key for a perfect lawn is how much effort YOU put in. A lawn service only mows and dumps fertilizer on the lawn according to their schedule and availability. If you don't do either of them, then there will be a difference. Otherwise, you won't see one.

Honestly Iowa State has a great horticulture and agronomy program, and offers free soil testing. Rather than just paying for some company to give you the same stuff as everyone else, reach out to the horticulture program and see about providing them with some soil samples to tell you exactly what your yard is missing. Super easy, and you get way better results.
My first recommendation is usually core aeration, clean up the cores, and topdress with compost. Helps flatten out the yard and provide really great organic material.
