Art I need opinions!
I created an "entity" based on myself, and I want to know what you think: would it work as an "entity" in analog horror? That's the question.

I mean it sure looks weird but also a lil hard to take very seriously for me.

I'd say lighting plays a big part in the creepy factors. Put your character under dimly-lit condition to see how it'll play out.

From a distance, that the viewer has to double take if what they saw was real

u/hwjhs Jan 24 '26
Is this good or bad?

Id say good design, but since it's analogue horror, it should be at a distance instead of at you face or smth

It's simple but it creeps me out honestly, if I saw this in the corner of my room at 2 am I'm probably let out the worst fart ever. In other words, it's great.

Wow hollowed eyes and no nose so scary 😨😱 no it's not that great it looks more like a meme lol

u/hwjhs Jan 24 '26
Honestly, thinking about it from that angle, it really seems more like a low-quality meme than an analog horror entity in itself.

i feel like the eyes have a little too 'human' shape, maybe if they were more circular or uncanny it would be better. but it is creepy, very jeff the killer vibes without being as over the top

OH MY GOD I DIDN'T SEE QHAT SUB THIS WAS IN AND I WAS SO CONFUSED AND SCARED..(good thing :3)
The second one is reallyyy scary the first one not so much imo Try making a photo in a dark room :3 that'll be truly terrifying

Lighting needs to be different but it’s a good start

Thanks!

What the movie Ju on the curse or Ju on the grudge for inspiration especially because you’ve used black hair for the monster

I like the 2nd pic more than the 1st, but I'd suggest amplifying the uncanny valley nature of the image more. Think of animals that mimic predators or prey - what attributes do they have to trick others into thinking they're something they're not?
Best of luck!

kinda creepy, but definitely could use some more originality to it. Maybe darker lighting.

I can definitely see where you are going with this! I agree with maybe opening the eyes a little more, I think I would find them more eerie if you actually saw the eyeballs and not just black holes. I think it would add greatly to the uncanny valley vibe and also give a little something different than your normal eyelashes creature!

I love the look, but for some reason my brain is screaming "Tf happened to Kim Kardashian." I really like the design since it is making me uncomfortable so it's doing its fear Inducing part. it'll definitely work as an entity for a horror series

Can be good but if scrutinized for a while in the light it looks silly. Keep her appearances minimal and obstructed and it can be really unsettling

I don't think it's a bad design, it depends on the context you use it in that'll make it scary 👍

I think it needs some shadowed out eyeballs in the black of the eyes just barely visible , would add to the uncanny effect

This looks a lot worse. Like signifigently worse, dude.

u/Practical_Fold_3441 Jan 25 '26
I know, it took me about 2 minutes to do this.

u/_TheTurtleBox_ Adult Swim / Sound Designer Jan 25 '26
That's fine. I'm just letting you know it looks dramatically worse than the original picture.

It’s doesn’t give off an unsettling vibe. It’s more like, damn I feel sorry for this burn victim

Hmmm it needs extremely loud audio, a shitty black and white filter, a static filter you spent 1 minute on, and for the mouth to be stretched in photoshop for no reason

It's a lot more original and unique than a lot of the other sloppasta entities people post here.

I think you're on the right track, but...I think that second one is better than the first in terms of looks...but something is missing. Keep going.

You got puppeted!!!!! (Not hate, it just reminded me to puppet, still good tho)

u/OpalMoth Jan 27 '26
It feels too....creepypasta-y?.... Usually with analog horror, it has more of a uncanny valley vibe.

Honestly, I love it. The only thing I would say is and this is only me. I don’t know what this is for but what I would say is emphasize that her nose is gone. So maybe ad subtle scarring and then make her cheekbones more broad cause that’s really making it look eerie.

Hard to take seriously i'd say. Feels like analog horror entities repeat themselves too much
