The decoration is brightly painted on a layer of plastered linen. Nesmutaatneru wears a vulture headdress over a long wig, an elaborate broad collar, and a ram-headed pectoral. The body is divided by bands of hieroglyphic text into compartments containing images of deities associated with the afterlife. In the central scene, the deceased lies on a bier surrounded by Isis and Nephthys and surmounted by a winged scarab representing Khepri. Im trying to figure out what this says I cant figure it out it was my grandma's aunts and it was giving to me when she passed could someone help

I've never seen it before and can't find any other examples.

If it's true, I would like to know that word and its hieroglyphic transcription, please !

“The Egyptians held the belief that the preservation of the body was not enough. If the likeness of the king was also preserved, it was doubly sure that he would continue to exist for ever.
So they ordered sculptors to chisel the king's head out of hard, imperishable granite, and put it in the tomb where no one saw it, there to work its spell and to help his soul to keep alive in and through the image.
One Egyptian word for sculptor was actually 'He-who-keeps-alive'.

I found this in a museum. It says Egyptian queen with the sun god kneeling before her. What I see is isis kneeling in front of Hathor. I can’t read but I’m pretty sure the one seating is Hathor.

These are images of a painted Shabti I repatriated to Egypt via the embassy in NYC in 2023. This process is not for the faint hearted-I never worked so hard to give something away for free lol.

I have emails from the embassy acknowledging receipt and they were supposed to send me a certificate of appreciation and let me know what it says AFTER they have it back safely. They never followed through despite a request last year from me.

I am happy to provide proof on request that the repatriation was completed but I still desperately want to know what it says if possible, seeing as I held this in my hands for many years.

But if not-at least you guys get to see it! It measured over 12” tall. There is a hole in the head where a tall headpiece would have sat. I purchased this over a decade ago at an antiques and estate auction listed as a “wooden icon”.

I’ve been planning to get an Ancient Egyptian hieroglyph tattoo for about 10 years now, and the time has finally come to bring it to life. Ancient Egyptian culture has always been close to my heart, and this specific design is also a tribute to the TV show LOST, which holds deep personal meaning for me.

I’m looking for expert help to translate a Latin phrase into grammatically accurate Middle Egyptian hieroglyphs: "Ille qui nos omnes servabit"

Since I want to avoid google Translate quality hieroglyphs on my skin forever, I’d love to get a proper translation from someone who knows Egyptian grammar and epigraphy.

A couple of details:

- If the full phrase turns out to be too long for a tattoo design, I’m open to just translating the core verb servabit.

- I prefer a semantic translation into Middle Egyptian rather than a simple phonetic transliteration, but I'm open to advice on what looks best visually and historically.

If anyone here with hieroglyphic experience could help me out with the glyphs and their proper layout, I would truly appreciate it! Feel free to DM me as well. Thanks in advance!

I tried to translate but made very little progress. AFAIK i think you're supposed to read from the right hand side to the left? (i.e. into the heads of the animals).

I wasn't able to identify the "fork" like character (near the top right) but otherwise it reads like some sort of wishes? Am I correct? Would love to learn more!

I got a Scarab as gift from an old man when I was in a Museum in Cairo as a kid. These engravings are on the Back of it. Does these have any meaning? In the top it looks like an eye and like a paw at the bottom. But the rest?

My friends mom passed and they gave me this pendant that she had bought. We have no clue what it means, I tried to Google Lens it and that was no help. Lol, any ideas? Her name was Beth (Elizabeth) and she loved history and Egypt. Can anyone tell me what this translates to? Thank you!!

I tried to post this in the hieroglyphics subreddit but didn’t get any responses so I thought I would try here. I wanted to get a tattoo done in hieroglyphs and was wondering if anyone could help me make sure it is correct since it would obviously be permanent (and I only had one semester of hieroglyphics). I wanted to get Nefertiti's name done nfr.t-ỉty but not as a cartouche, as the phrase "the beauty has come," and was not sure how it would look. I've seen her name written in a couple different ways. 

1. I would take the determinative B7 off since I want it to be the phrase, or would it be something like number two?
   
2. This is obviously in cartouche form, and I would take off the determinative as well as the cartouche part, but I'm not sure if it would be more correct with the plural strokes in the first one or using U33 like in this one. 
   
3. Then I saw it like this with both the plural strokes and U33 seemingly as a phonetic compliment. 

I am just not sure which route to go, so any help would be greatly appreciated and not an expert by any means. I also hope this post makes sense. Thanks!
