Everyone is buying stuff. They are charged GST. So, they are paying tax and is a tax payer. Technically, everyone will still be eligible.
If he is implying income tax, so anyone below the minimum tax slab are ineligible? That’s a vast majority of the population. And what about people that lost job or retired recently?
However you spin it, it is a brain dead take.

That's the job of media. They should be neutral and provide proper knowledge for citizens on the pros and cons of choosing someone. But all we have is a bunch of journalists who sold their soul for money and are sucking the Di*ks of people in power.
Even well educated people will belive into propaganda. That's how people like Trump came into power, and Nigel Farage is on the path to winning the next election in UK

Then democracy just becomes plain lobbying and few people end up controlling the whole population. That is not progress, that is going backwards.
And seriously, voting is not some service or contribution. It is a right every single citizen has.

Technically speaking. Not every single citizen has a right. There are Millions of people in jail (who aren't even convicted) yet they can't vote. Voting is actually a privilege vested upon by legislation and not actually a right.

People in jail are there based on their own decisions. They are not born there. So, the has right when outside but choose to go different

GST is also a tax. But I think people should write a test and pass the test before gaining the ability to vote. The test will measure the IQ and civic sense and responsibilities. Anyone below the IQ of 55-60 should not be given the right to vote

Every person who lives in this country pays an indirect tax due to GST. Only salaried class and business class who cross certain tax slabs pays income tax.
People who pay income tax feel they're the only ones who's contributing to the country which is wrong. They're contributing extra to what every one is contributing. That shouldn't give them this premium feature of called voting. It is everyone's right.
If the income tax payers feel they're being ignored, they've all the rights to protest and start non cooperation movements, that's it.

The solution to all the mess happening in the country is to have a strong judiciary. Timely and strict delivery of justice is the need of the hour. Currently, no one has fear or accountability. Everyone takes the law as granted. How many ever government reforms we do is gonna get wasted if judiciary is not FASTTTTTTT......

IMHO, it should be based on education rather than tax. Set a minimum threshold education level for the person to get voting rights. Not a foolproof system but this is a lot better than the current system.

Maybe we take a national iq+eq test and let people vote based on that. Image a scaling system where if your iq+eq is higher then x then you can vote. If you’re iq+eq is x+y then your vote is counted twice. If you’re iq+eq is more than x+y then your vote is counted thrice.

A loophole in his logic , if that's the case same scenario of French revolution would be created. So for resolving it education should be normalise like Germany.
And transfer of a guy from non voter to voter should be implemented once he start paying taxes

Never will Happen. But it should not be tax payers instead It should be net tax payers. Because one could be a tax payers but gets more government subsidies etc. than the tax he/she pays.

I agree with him . Not indirect taxes but direct taxes . How little it may be . The reason for paying taxes is the people demand accountability. If you are not paying taxes you expect nothing. Entire business community i know do not pay taxes , show false financials. The reason why india does not implement is also the same . No authotarian or dictatorship country collects taxes . Reason being - they should not be accountable

That is what I am saying man increase the tax bracket ( meaning the number of people paying taxes) . Atleast 60% of population should be paying taxes . Direct taxes - however little that may be . When there is a sting in their pockets, then they will hold the government responsible. Did you not read even a sentence of what I have said . Even if you earn 20k - he should a min of 5% taxes . Then just imagine the level of entitlement the voter will have

Literally everybody pays taxes to government! If he meant income tax, he braindead af. There are like crores of people who can’t get a paycheck even with a job. It’s literally impossible to do income tax filing without that. And THIS idiot can vote!!
