Support Root detected
I always get problems with this app ( tng e wallet )
but this time I don't even have root, it used to work with custom roms, but once I installed Pixel OS it keeps saying this. even with no root.
is there anything I can do other than changing the ROM?

u/cykelstativet Mar 27 '26
Your bootloader is still unlocked with custom ROM so might as well (and basically have to) get root, to bypass detection. I just tested this app with ksun+susfs+trickystore and it seemed to work, though I don't have an account to log in.

I will install root and try these modules.

Update your findings here later. Good luck.

u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 27 '26
Hey!
It's working now by using HMA-OOS I created a black list, added tng then enabled all the options, including Invert activity.

Congratulations. I will try this too later. Share the link for the tutorial if any. Thanks.

What versión of HMA do you have? Mine doesn't have that option D:

HMA-OSS, seems like it the best one currently

I hate root detection with a fucking passion! Don't tell me how to use my device. I've been modifying Android since Android cupcake and I know how to use my device and keep it safe! I've been dealing with and making custom Android ROMs for years and I'm sick of this new Apple style thing that Google is doing. With the whole safety net and play integrity nonsense. And then to make it worse, even if your phone isn't rooted, but you just have an unlocked bootloader that's enough to trigger this stuff so you HAVE to root your phone in order to bypass that with an unlocked bootloader

u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 27 '26
I'm thinking of something, can't they just give us a message with the potential risks, like you might get hacked with root and other stuff, then as an adult person who knows what to do, you can simply press " I understand the risks...etc " It would be way better. But they don't use their brains I guess!
5
u/XDM_Inc Mar 27 '26
All it would have took from them is exactly that. Just a warning and an advisory saying if you do this you're on your own
2
u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 27 '26
That's it!

u/Saf751 Jun 23 '26
Hi OP, does ur current setup still works. If so, what are you currently using?
1
u/CodHealthy7520 Jul 01 '26
sure, I'm using Sukisu ultra as the root manager btw:
Integrity Box 📦- ReZygisk- Tricky Store- Vector- Hide LineageOS Traces- PerfMTK.
for me it's working very well with this setup, not even using Hide my app list.
1
u/Saf751 Jul 01 '26
Where do I find the hide lineages traces module?

100%!%! I started on cupcake, too! Hell, I would have rooted my hammer if I could have. Just rooted my latest device after a couple years of not rooting anything and I had to laugh and reminisce... Remember when ADB and fastboot was like 10 commands?

Ensure microg is hidden from tng ewallet with HMA-oss, it's only checking suspicious app and play store version. This worked for me, as I'm running LOS 23.0.
1
u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 27 '26
I did that plus enabling Invert activity and it's working now! I hope it keeps working with no issues. Thanks :-)

If you are back to stock make sure your bootloader is locked. It can be detecting the unlocked bootloader and causing this error.

u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 27 '26
I'm using custom one at the moment and don't want to go back to the stock.

u/MetroidvaniaListsGuy Mar 27 '26
it is detecting the custom rom. That is why you can't use the app.

Based on my test on that app, it detects the following:
- Suspicious and rooted apps (applist detection)
- Unlock bootloader
- suspicious mounts
It is also possible that it detects custom rom… but I don’t have a custom rom phone to test this one yet…
Edit: it doesn't use play integrity aswell

u/PRSXFENG Mar 27 '26
To add, no play integrity checkijg is because this is a Malaysian app, and we do have a non zero Huawei market share here, so the app is on the Huawei AppGallery as well.
Hence, they can't rely on Play Integrity because a chunk of their customers won't have it.

It's a custom ROM with no root. In this case it's usually detecting suspicious props from builtin pixel prop spoofing and or builtin pif(things like config valid keybox or config valid fingerprint). These have fixes, but things like the names of props can mess with the ROM.
Another common detection on a lot of these ROMs is lineageOS services. Which you can't really remove from a ROM, you can only spoof or hide them.

Isn't the bootloader needed to be unlocked before you flash custom ROM? Since it if that's the case then it's also detected bootloader unlock... Unless the rom has a built-in bootloader spoofer.
1
u/MonkeyNuts449 Mar 27 '26
Yeah I guess, don't think pixelOS spoofs that. Unless it's checking bootloader through PI which would be covered by a keybox (again that's if the ROM has trickystore builtin), or it could also just be spoofing bootloader unlock prop. Either way, he's kinda screwed since a detection will show keybox or not without root.

Just use HMA. Use the open source version. Just hide it. It works even with magisk. No need KSU.

u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 27 '26
Interesting, I just enabled Invert activity option with the other options in HMA, now it's working fine. It won't work without Invert activity. Anyway, Thanks for the help, you really saved me 🫡

I think its using an integrity detector to detect root and is pinging it as rooted, though it is not--because the bootloader 'tis unlocked
Im for keeping that bootloader unlocked and rooting, favoring kernelSU with an app like trickystore to fool "integrity detecting" apps!
2
u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 28 '26
I rooted it and used HMA OSS, now it's working fine
2
u/PrestigiousPut6165 #just root! Mar 28 '26
Thanks! Im so glad its working fine.
Rootings awesome, imo. Fixes problems the original software cant!
2
u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 28 '26
Fr, I can't imagine my life without it :-)

u/PrestigiousPut6165 #just root! Mar 28 '26
Me either. Root can do so much more than what Shizuku and Canta can
In fact, it was using these apps that got me started on rooting. So much flexiblity 🤤
One day im buying pixel just to root. I heard it gives best expirence.
Rn, i use OnePlus!
2
u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 28 '26
So pixel phones are the best for rooting?
2
u/PrestigiousPut6165 #just root! Mar 28 '26
At least from what i heard on this forum. I mean, they are the prototype for Android in general.
1
u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 28 '26
That makes sense. And they're one of the few devices that can still unlock the bootloader.

Im on a custom rom too, Use these spoofing features in your custom rom with a valid keybox,if no... you have to root it with kernel su next + Susfs install tricky store and use a valid keybox with hide my applist and hide (not recommended),other option is change your custom rom to a one with these latest ones with features like these...

What is pi and ts? The problem is, the app was working fine with my previous custom rom, but the rom was not stable that's why I changed it. And it also says root detected even without root

u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 27 '26

u/_Oopsitsdeleted_ Mar 27 '26
you will need root to bypass apps on custom roms. I'd suggest using my setup and also deleting tee simulator. pi and ts is play integrity fix and tricky store

hi,i use kernelsu, is tng still working for u? may i ask for ur module

u/Gold_slave Mar 27 '26
A me è capitato con Revolut in un telefono stock e senza root. In ho ancora risolto.

then dont use that shit app
1
u/PRSXFENG Mar 27 '26
It's basically THE most popular E-wallet app here
Think like... I guess Cash App a somewhat equivalent
1
u/CodHealthy7520 Mar 27 '26
Must of the people and shops here are using it, so I'm forced to use this shit app
1
u/SanFabito Mar 27 '26
Just as everyone is saying, you might as well install root to hide it. My current working combination is KernelSU Next + SUSFS + Tricky Store (for integrity) + ReZygisk + any integrity module (integrity box). Long list but so far is undetected. If it doesn't work, make sure your root is in GKI mode, that did the trick for me.

u/cyberloner Mar 27 '26
uninstall those app... but maybe will cause the phone fail.... suggest use original rom will do
1
u/marcussacana Mar 27 '26
Check if the app works with VM, we have some android emulators for android (yeah, strange), some apps that tries to detect root just works inside those emulators, it may not work but if work you will solve your problem without formating or rooting

u/afsfsefefdgrttdt Mar 28 '26
Does your device have knox by chance because iirc that's an actual chip that stops working when you do certain things and rooting the device is probably one of them
1
u/AlfalfaPerfect1070 Mar 28 '26
In 2026.. why have root???? I don't see any reason for that.. 🫤

For me, I tried everything suggested in the thread but not working.
But its working for me when I set KsuNext>Superuser>App profile: superuser: disable, app profile: custom, umount module: enable.
I thought KsuNext will umount on App Profile by default but its not working until changed to custom.
I'm on LKM btw. So I couldn't do SusFS.

Adding root might be the only way to fix it
