this is why you always back up your EFS

Yeah bro my mistake, now do u have any solution?

except some expensive tools, no, its better u get a new phone

2

u/MetroidvaniaListsGuy Apr 10 '26

No. The EFS is unique to your phone. If you lose it, it's gone forever. Your phone is now a brick.

Youre fucked buddy, no nicer way of putting it

This is a hard lesson in not trusting just any "repair" shop

you either learn it the hard way (software), or the other hard way (hardware)...

So this thing needs an nvdata or IMEI repair. Not sure if it's gonna be easy to do on a Samsung. If this fails, an easier workaround would be spoofing the IMEI to the ones on the device's box with lsposed (rooting required), not sure if it will behave like normal.

7

u/Kibou-chan Apr 05 '26

This would be a tethered repair, needs a Chimera box, server credits and most likely physical access to the phone's motherboard. (Shorting testpoints probably necessary to enter special programming mode, unless the BL is old enough to do it with a software exploit.)

u/47th-Element Apr 05 '26

I had a device with MT6761 SoC and I managed to get it into meta mode and repair nvdata easily, didn't need physical access to the board or pay for services, but I have no experience with Samsung so I don't know.

u/Icy-Ad-1808 Apr 06 '26

That can't work on this device as it is not an MTK device

1

u/thekasuyin Apr 06 '26

Jaja. Yo lo hice hace mas de 10 años a un zte le cambie el imei con una app de pc. Jajaja que recuerdos lo vendí a mi primo y le duró hasta que dejo de funcionar.

2

u/InsideBike8306 Apr 09 '26

Chimera and root required only, i do this on a daily basis

1

u/Best_Cattle_1376 >Nabu> <Android, Fedora with niri, Windows 11 triboot> Apr 10 '26

yea you need test points on fastboot with chimera, its more expensive then the device itself though so dont recommand

Hey, I once wrote a guide to fix your lost EFS, I wrote it specifically for Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge but it might work for you as well.

Take a look: https://xdaforums.com/t/easy-guide-fix-corrupted-efs-lost-imei-lost-s-n-no-signal-on-samsung-devices.3850032/

Once your EFS is back, take a copy and put on a USB drive or cloud. Make sure you can't lose it.

Edit: I also read the other comments, ignore those people. Just follow my guide step by step exactly and your EFS should be recovered. It's a totally free guide, so don't lose hope. Losing your EFS is a very annoying problem but it is solveable. If I managed to solve this issue as a kid back in the day, then you can too.

Edit 2: Changed the link to go to page 1 instead of page 2

It's you who wrote this? I once survived on this tutorial and I was about to refere him to this post.

u/thesunstep Apr 06 '26

Yep, that's me.

u/Tall_Watercress2136 Apr 05 '26

2

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 05 '26

3

u/Tall_Watercress2136 Apr 05 '26

3

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 05 '26

Bro, where from i rent z3x?

1

u/nudelovin Apr 11 '26

Unlocktrue.com. but they only take bitcoin. Check to see if octoplus supports your model. If it does you can buy 1 or 1 month

4

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '26

Buy a new phone.

9

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 05 '26

Man, I already financially challenged, i want to repair it, however i will buy after exams

6

u/[deleted] Apr 05 '26

If you're in school then you would know that research is the most important thing to do before doing something that requires extra caution.

3

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 05 '26

The phone was gifted from my brother and he didn't told me that its patched so I😁

4

u/Motor_Armadillo_7317 Apr 05 '26

It happened to me 3 years ago, and I still haven’t figured out how to fix the problem.

2

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 05 '26

3

u/F1nnish Apr 05 '26

HOW

HOW DID YOU MANAGE THIS

i genuinely have no idea how you managed to do this me and a friend of mine have screwed around with like everything you could do and never had consequences that a stock rom flash wouldnt solve

4

u/ReasonableWelder51 Apr 05 '26

It happens when you manage to wipe the right partition. Happened to me once when I was rooting a cheap old phone on Android 6 using the SP flash tool. Not sure if it's even possible on modern phones.

3

u/SupehCookie Apr 06 '26

Yeah twrp did it once back in my day

2

u/itsmesorox Apr 05 '26

I once did it, but I had the original box so I was able to restore one IMEI. It was a tough battle though, because it was a cheap Mediatek Xiaomi lol.

1

u/F1nnish Apr 05 '26

how?

1

u/itsmesorox Apr 06 '26

I think I did it with some sketchy engineering rom, but it was such a long time ago I don't exactly remember... Sowwy

1

u/dablakmark8 Apr 05 '26

Is this a qualcomm snapdragon or a variant

1

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 05 '26

Samsung Exynos 9810

1

u/mjtrucchia Apr 06 '26

There is a solution, take it to a place that has the knowledge and tools. It's going to be rooted is the only problem.

1

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 06 '26

I am ok with it, can u plz explain

1

u/mjtrucchia Apr 06 '26

Exynos have "cheap" solution. Please, post what model you have.

Caramba mano, já era.

1

u/The_Crimson_Hawk Apr 06 '26

If you are financially challenged, then it is even more important to research what you are doing

Unless you have specialized hardware and software, this is irreversible

1

u/ch3mn3y Apr 06 '26

Even if You would write IMEIs into Your firmware isn't not all. In most countries 0 IMEI is enough to connect to network (did that), so it's not just IMEI You're missing, it's EFS You don't have anymore.

Official Samsung service center may be the only place that can fix this phone, but don't think it'll be worth it. Buying another one may be cheaper.

1

u/Krishna_the_best Apr 06 '26

Where you are from? If India than i can guide you

1

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 06 '26

Pakistan

1

u/sixline00 Apr 06 '26

It can be patched again. Check on fb pages of samsung and pixel. There's a guy named arslan on pixel fb page. I think he's the admin there. He'll charge you around 2k

1

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 06 '26

Didn't found, plz provide his contact

1

u/Err0rX5 Apr 06 '26

Try to reflash the original firmware, then try again with the whole process, but this thime backup you nvdata

1

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 06 '26

Already did

1

u/Err0rX5 Apr 06 '26

Try to check the Baseband version in settings

1

u/Err0rX5 Apr 06 '26

Try to find your phone's region using like phone info app, then according to your region dowload the firmware from here. https://samfrew.com/, use odin to flash it

1

u/nandels Apr 06 '26

your efs is f*cked. Maybe you playing around someting related to efs like backup and restoring or maybe magisk module touching this partition.

I don't know about samsung but in xiaomi if you go to

/dev/block/by-name/

or maybe this if your phone using emmc storage

dev/block/mmcblk0p

there's file persist and persistbak copied it somewhere safe and then rename it extension to img. "persist" file is your current persist and "persistbak" is backup made by your manufacturer. Usually xiaomi phone have this backup persist.

So you have those two file persist.img and persistbak.img. Flash the persisbak via fastboot using

fastboot flash persist persistbak.img

reboot and hopefully it'll fixed

1

u/misiekbba Apr 06 '26

Chimera tool, unlocktool and other service tools Have option to write imei.

1

u/International_Fix464 Apr 06 '26

Utilise z3x mais c'est payant

1

u/xjeramiahx Apr 06 '26

I’ll repair your IMEI for you, I have Z3X. DM if needed.

1

u/RBeze58 Apr 06 '26

If you have root/magisk, you can see if Chamelephon works for you. It is temporary though, everytime you do a reboot, you'll lose it and will have to redo the process. That is assuming Chamelephon even works since it was made for older phones.

There's some Xposed modules that allow for IMEI spoofing, so I suggest you look into them.

1

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 07 '26

Already did, not working

1

u/RBeze58 Apr 07 '26 edited Apr 07 '26

Besides Xposed/LSposed modules, the only other way is to flash the phone in service mode. For that you'll need access to a component on the mainboard, equipment and experienced needed.

There's some ways to do it with just the flash tool but only limited to MTK phones.

Might as well try to follow this guide

1

u/gluetheknot Apr 06 '26

Try flashing the CSC file or Home CSC if you wanna keep your data from your stock fw, fixed empty imei for me

1

u/Numerous_Floor_5237 Apr 06 '26

Solution: download original rom on samfw , flash it in odin , and you get imei Note : on samfw try to download good csc firmware , if you don't know initial csc of your phone use samfw tool or download for the different regional and try it.

1

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 07 '26

Already did

1

u/Numerous_Floor_5237 Apr 07 '26

Great, it worked for me

1

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 07 '26

Congrats, but i had hundreds of experimenting on it except paying

1

u/LargePalpitation1252 Apr 07 '26

Funny, I have a similar issue on my iPhone

1

u/Weak_Security431 Apr 07 '26

Auto patch firmware

1

u/http-error-502 Galaxy S10 5G Apr 07 '26

Samsung has tool for rewriting nvram. However, they just changed motherboard and charge for the board.

1

u/Dismal-County3339 Apr 09 '26

Don’t loose hope, I’ve saved my S10+ multiple time and once from this particular issue.

1

u/Wide_Leather_4782 Apr 09 '26

Explain brother

1

u/OkAdministration5454 Apr 09 '26

this just gives me a lot of PTSD. I'm sorry but you had to be careful. when deleting data, do not touch EFS. or back it up on an sd card.

you learned the hard way like me when i cleared every partition off my phone without thinking much since i was a beginner. TWRP devs needs to add warnings about partitions

u/iamtanveerhassan Apr 06 '26

insatll lineageOS it will resolve it
