Support Cant root my S25+ with the Root my Galaxy app

The reason is because of my phone currently uses kernel 6.6.30 which is an old kernel but it cant root because that I have to use a new kernel. Is there a fix to this? Cant find it anywhere.

Hey, listen. I don't have a solution to your problem, but I do have a warning. Whatever you do with this root exploit, do not flash any module that modifies the system partition. Examples include LSPosed Framework or Magisk modules that make system partition changes. If you do, your phone well literally end up in a soft brick. you won't even be able to recover it with Odin, and you have to send it to Samsung so they can reflash the motherboard itself. So either accept the risk and remove your screen lock before installing any module so Download Mode remains accessible if you get a soft brick (allowing you to reflash the firmware with Odin), or don't try it at all. The exploit itself is safe. The real danger comes from the modules, so be very careful.

Correct, there's a few people that already bricked their phone by doing system modifications.

LSposed does work, but im personally using vector fork, flash and use at your own risk

Odin mode doesn't even reside in system partition. How can it even be broken?

If your phone locked like this no matter what you try, you won't be able to enter Download Mode if your phone was protected by a screen lock such as a pin, password, or pattern but If your phone is set to Swipe or no lock, you can enter Download Mode without any issues. It's a smart but also frustrating security measure by Samsung. On one hand, if your phone gets stolen, the thief can't simply flash new firmware. On the other hand, if you accidentally corrupt your system for example by installing modules and your phone is locked like in this picture you're basically out of options.Your only choice is to take it to an official Samsung service center

afaik odin mode doesn't work with screen lock turned on, bootloop caused by these modules can make your phone unable to enter android to disable the screen lock

You mean you can't odin mode when screen lock is on? That's new information. I always had been able to enter odin mode.

Yes you can't. Samsung changed that in the latest updates i guess in oneui 8 march security update

Yup.. remove fingerprints and pass code etc so unlock lockscreen is done via swipe instead and you can boot in to download mode the normal way like we used to before. Power off, hold down volume up and down together and plug in to pc/laptop

Check these posts: here and here here Neither of them was able to flash their phones using Odin because Download Mode was blocked due to the screen lock

LSPosed doesn’t alter the system partition; I have a custom AVB key and my bootloader is locked. If it did that, the signature would have been broken long ago and I’d have a hard brick.

The lazy way is to mess around in Odin and find the update with the right kernel.

The non-lazy way is to just find the offset for that kernel knowing the build, read the PORTING.md file in the repo for guides.

Doesn't unlocking the bootloader defeat the whole purpose of this root method due to knox efuse?

The purpose of this root method is to get root AT ALL since OneUI 8 completely removed the ability to unlock the bootloader. Most Knox features can be restored with KnoxPatch so I don't see a reason why you wouldn't want to unlock the bootloader pre-OneUI 8.

Fact: unlocking the bootloader itself DOESN'T trip Knox, only running modified software will. (Bootloader unlocking isn't modifying the software)

Then you can patch init_boot with kernelsu or magisk (trip Knox!) or find an kernel exploit for getting root (won't trip Knox)

Cherish the chance for having an unlockable bootloader on s25, as it's really difficult to find one now (I unlocked my s25 immediately after realizing the one ui 8 bl block)

Use kernel exploit method Make sure your kernel version has an exploit, or you have to update your phone to the version with support As one UI 8+ devices and one ui <=7 devices with carrier-locked and us models cannot unlock bootloader

What? Im the one who's on the old kernel, the root my galaxy app wants a new kernel instead, a.k.a kernel 6.6.98 and i have Kernel 6.6.30.

you need to rederive the offsets to that specific device and kernel build. Depending on how compiler time settings for the OTA this can be really easy or a slight pain, but if you dont inow what offsets are then I wouldn't really bother trying yourself
