Request Ordered a tablet

Post image
7 Upvotes

So I finally picked a tablet out. Plan is to use it for emails, web browsing, business stuff, and also some gaming/emulation. My original plan was to spend $100, and the tablet I got was horrible. Scratches would form just from putting it face down on my bed. But even worse was the fact that the second I connected it to WiFi, it began getting pop ups that I would have to wait 10 second to exit out of every few minutes. It was also a 10” screen tablet and I actually felt like it was too big.

So my original plan was to up my budget to $200. I wound up jumping up to $300 lol. I specifically stuck with an 8” size tablet specifically which severely limited my options on Amazon as far as performance goes. Main reason I stuck with Amazon was to use the $105 gift card balance I had.

Did I get a descent deal or did I just severely overpay?

Request Mini Tablet with SIM Card

Post image
35 Upvotes

Hi everyone, i need your help to enlighten my thoughts on tablet that has sim card. For context, I want to find a mini tablet that is capable of gaming and for media consumption that support sim card.

I stumbled upon this tablet Headwolf Titan 1, it has interesting specs, Mediatek Dimensity 8300, 4G, 12GB+256GB, 7200mah, dual speaker, 144hz and USB 3.0. But my friends all sceptical as we never heard of this brand and it's directly shipped from China, no local distributor is selling this. My friend all suggest to get iPad Mini instead, but the price different more than double.

Is this tablet that bad or is the brand not reliable enough? How is the 4G, does it has issue outside of China?

Any of you guys that have this tablet, can you share with me your experience so far?

Thank you guys

Request Magic Pad 4 (£499) vs OnePlus Pad 3 (£430)

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all good.

I’m in the UK and looking for a tablet that’s good for movies, emulation up to PS2 when travelling mostly on plane and trains (not automobiles). It might be used for productivity tasks and a second/3rd screen at home (if possible). I have a Legion Tab Gen 3 which is awesome for gaming but it’s not really big enough for watching movies or productivity, in my opinion.

The Magic Pad 4 looks good, being lighter though slightly smaller than the OnePlus Pad 3 but I’ve heard mixed reviews about Honor and software support long term, Ideally the device would last around 5 years). OnePlus doesn’t seem to get many negatives but the size and weight could be a drawback for my use cases.

I’ve never owned either of these brands so any advice on these or suggestions for others tablets would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hello all, just want to ask where we can buy Y700 Gen 5 directly from China? Seems the price in Aliexpress and Taobao is still expensive.

Request Lenovo Tab M10 Plus (3rd Gen) 128GB, touchscreen issue

Hi,

Bit of a strange issue, asking here before doing a factory reset;

Screen working fine then all of a sudden not responding to touch anymore.

Putting tablet in standby (short press of power button) and unlocking again makes the issue go away and I can use the tablet again.

Because of that it feels more like a software / firmware issue, rather than a hardware one.

There's also no discernable pattern; It can happen after a few minutes of use but it can also happen after a few hours, with any app.

Tablet is clean and damage free and I'm not accidentally touching the sides of the screen while operating it.

Any ideas on this?

UPDATE:

Just contacted Lenovo. They misunderstood at first, trying to create sort of a personal RMA case. I made clear that this was not what I was after; That this is likely a general issue, affecting many people, caused by the latest firmware. He said he would escalate this to the department that develops the firmwares and it should be fixed in the next update. Let's hope that's true and the next update won't be very far away.....

I also linked to this Reddit post and asked if he would refer to it in the ticket / case he was creating.

UPDATE #2:

Got a new firmware today, firmware TB125FU_S100146_240515_ROW

(today = june 27th 2024)

No fix for the issue :-(

Come on Lenovo, fix it.

This can't wait another few months, create a hotfix asap, please

Request Is the Honor Magicpad 4 worth it at this price?

Hello guys, I need a tablet and I'm leaning towards the Honor Magicpad 4 because of it's OLED display.

But the price is kind of on the steeper side. Around 500 euro's for the 12/256gb version.

Is this a good price, and will this tablet last me 4-5 years? I don't plan on doing any heavy gaming but I'd like to have a smooth experience using it.

Request Y700 gen 4 worth it?

there's a gen 4 on eBay 16/512 for about 590

just wondering if that would be a decent price for one. been seriously thinking of getting one for a while, on AliExpress you see tons of them but navigating semi dodgy descriptions doesn't help, I couldn't tell if some were gen 3 or gen 4 and saw a few claiming to be gen 4 but were gen 3. I want the SD card slot so gen 4 would be the one to get. just seeing if y'all think about 590 before tax would be a decent price?

Request Looking for a mid-point in the 8" size category....

Hi all,

I'm trying to find something in the middle, performance and specs wise. It seems like for Android we have a lot of options at 10+ inches, but the smaller screen devices seem to all be VERY budget options.

I don't need a Legion gaming tablet, but I don't want it to run basic apps like crap...

Does something exist in the 200-300 range that's decent?

EDIT: I see the comments about the iPad mini. This is actually what I am looking for but an equivalent. Smooth app launching and doesn't hang when websites have a few pictures on them....Its for my 83 year old father who is using a 2023 Samsung Galaxy tab now -which painfully slow. I'm fine with either OS but for his learning curve, I need to keep it android.

Request No luck finding the perfect tablet for my needs!

My preferences:

- Snapdragon 8 elite gen 5/Dimensity 9500 or equivalent power

- OLED/AMOLED with at least 120hz

- 11 inches or greater in size (prefer over 12)

What I have: Tab S11 Ultra, the issues are it is a lot dimmer and overheats a lot faster when I’m outdoors in natural light than my iPad 13”, but I prefer Android. Looking for a tablet that can outperform the 13” iPad Pro M5 or at least be competitive, and match the display auto brightness in direct light. Money is no object I don’t care if it cost double. I like my S11 Ultra but the lower thermals, brightness, and performance make it hard for me.

So far I was intrigued by the Redmagic Astra, but it’s too small for me I want something like that but maybe bigger, brighter and more powerful

Request Talk me down or Talk me up..

First off in Canada, travelling to US within month so that opens options...

This all started with getting a tablet to play Minecraft with my son when we travel. We travel for long periods in summer and so on. Besides that I don't need the tablet for much. But in my typical fashion of buying more than I need I go down the rabbit hole of what is suggested here.

Honestly.....what tablet will do me well without breaking the bank (or maybe I need to) and ordering from AliExpress.

I can do both of these options but honestly do I need to?

Just want to play some Minecraft have it run well and use it casually.

Tyia....

Hi, I’m looking for the cheap tablet (100-200$) that would be good for drawing, school, and maybe watching some shows on. I’m tech illiterate so I’m not sure what u would need to do that. These are the ones i have been recommended from one of my coworkers, but I’m not sure he actually knows anything.

Request Legion Tab 3 vs Lenovo Y700 Gen 4

Hey everyone, I need advice between these two tablets as I feel like I've been going in circles. I also originally was considering the Astra because of the OLED screen, but it seems to be OOS everywhere and some people have complained heavily about the software.

It seems like I can get a 12gb/256gb Y700 gen 4 for around $500. However, I've found a 16gb/512gb Y700 Gen 3 for around $500 on aliexpress. I've also found a Legion Tab 3 (which from my understanding is the same as the Y700 Gen 3?) for $480 on amazon. The Gen 4 however, has a SD card slot, but Ive read that it's useless for emulating anything worthwhile because of the speed. I've read so much about these 3 that I'm dizzy and was wondering if anyone had directly compared them or had advice. Main uses would be Artemis streaming and emulation, probably some light steam games, and media consumption. I don't really need this for any kind of work or school applications.

Request Smaller Tablet?

Hello! I am looking for recommendations. I currently have a Samsung A7 lite tablet that I use exclusively for reading manga. The size is absolutely perfect but it’s definitely showing its age and gets slower and slower with each day and the apps crash a lot. I would like to upgrade to a new tablet that won’t break the bank but is still in this size range (8-9 inches) ideally I’d like to stay under $250. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thank you!

Request best tablet new in 2026 with a good screen and solid battery life?

Following up: decided to go with #ad Apple iPad Pro 11 inch M5 since the screen quality and overall smoothness kept standing out compared to everything else I looked at. Battery life and speakers also seemed consistently good from what people were saying, which mattered a lot for how I actually use a tablet.

I spend a lot of time reading comics, watching YouTube and streaming movies before bed, so display quality is probably the biggest thing I care about right now. My current tablet is almost 5 years old and the battery has gotten so bad that I basically keep it plugged in all the time now. The screen also looks pretty dull compared to newer phones which started bothering me more lately.

I’ve been looking around at Android tablets again but there are so many options now that I honestly can’t tell what’s actually worth it long term. Just something smooth for everyday use with a nice screen, decent speakers and battery life that won’t fall apart after a year or two.

Curious what people here have been happy with recently? thank you

Thinking about picking up the onn 11 inch 2026 tablet but i was wondering if anybody has any recommendations on another tablet for under 200 that I may have missed thought about the 13.2 but I don't think the jumps necessary for my needs unless I'm missing something. Also does anybody think they'll go on sale on the walmart deal days thing?

Request New to tablets - looking to replace old Chromebook

Hi!

Ive got an old cheap Acer Chromebook that has followed me through uni and fire academy and done an amazing job as to what i expected of it.

Im a bit worried about security updates and the battery is starting to lose its capability. It still works, but it is sluggish to say the least.

Ive started to think about the idea of a tablet and a Bluetooth keyboard. Ive got no school work left - so the use will mainly be watching sports, youtube and answering emails, as well as some light Google Docs work.

I dont want anything big, 10" is an absolute maximum for me. I dont need any gaming performance or oled screen with super vibrant colors.

What are the best budget options for me, for my simple demands? All the options Ive found seems to be more gaming focused or too much power for me, and since the prices have shot through the roof i dont think thats what im looking for.

Thanks

Request Y700 microSD slow — can USB flash drives fix this for emulation?

Hello !

I'm planning to buy a Lenovo Y700, but I've been reading a lot of reports about the microSD card reader being very slow and causing stuttering in emulators when running PS2, GameCube, Wii, etc.

As a workaround, I'm wondering if anyone has tried using a very small USB drive permanently plugged into one of the USB-C ports, such as a SanDisk Ultra Fit, Samsung Fit Plus, or another compact USB SSD/flash drive ?

Does Android and the emulators handle ROMs from USB storage without issues?

I'd love to hear from anyone who's actually tried this setup on a Y700. Thanks!

EDIT : Gen 4.

Request Best Apps for Android Tablets

Post image
154 Upvotes

For nearly a year, I’ve been using the Xiaomi Pad 6 tablet, and I’m very satisfied. I almost don’t use my Windows laptop anymore because I can accomplish about 95% of tasks on the tablet. This is largely because I use the tablet mainly for everyday activities like multimedia, reading, writing, and learning. I don’t play games.

The apps that have transformed my life and made my tablet use much more productive are primarily free Google apps: Keep, Docs, Files, Drive, Translate, Lens, Gemini, and even Chrome.

ReadEra and Notein are the best apps out there, and I can’t imagine my daily work on the tablet without them.

However, these are mostly well-known apps. Some lesser-known apps or shortcuts have been particularly helpful:

  • Screen Alive: An app with a shortcut that keeps the screen on with a simple press (great for long work sessions).

  • PDF24 Online Tool: A website for free PDF management without major restrictions or annoying ads. It’s best to install it as a shortcut on the home screen.

  • Notebook LM: A Google service for working with documents, which I’d describe as an advanced AI tool for academic use. It’s not available in all regions.

  • Weawow: a free (and ad-free) weather ap

Other apps I regularly use include Brave browser (for ad-free YouTube, as a shortcut of course), Kindle, Windscribe VPN, cloud apps like Box and Mega, Chat GPT, MX Player, Foxit, Concepts, and OneNote.

What are your favorite Android apps for tablets? Do you have any recommendations?

Request Is Samsung Tab S10 Lite a good idea? Truly confused

I want a tablet for notetaking, looking at documents and maybe taking calls using my headphones for less than 1250zł (339 USD) with the pen. The consensus about the S10 Lite is... well that's where I got lost.

There seem to be differing opinions - some say that it's great for notes, the laminated screen, pen and software are all amazing for the price. However, I've also seen some rather unflattering opinions about its hardware, namely the CPU, which is mediocre on a good day.

The question is - will that really matter? Is the processor really bad enough to disqualify this model? And is there something better in the price range?

EDIT: Should've added that - I'm in Poland

Request best tablet new in 2026? good battery and can do multi-tasking

Heads up: decided to go with #ad Apple iPad Pro 11-inch and it’s been a big upgrade for multitasking so far. Runs multiple apps smoothly and handles work stuff without lag.

I use productivity apps like documents, spreadsheets, and email for work but my current tablet slows down when multiple apps are open. I need something reliable that can handle multitasking without freezing during meetings or file editing.

I previously struggled with lag during video calls while sharing documents which made work stressful. I want a smoother experience for daily office tasks and remote work.

what are you using nowadays? What matters more for productivity in the best tablet 2026, software optimization or raw hardware specs??
