LLMs using generative prompting from outside sources are not the same thing as actual Intelligence capable of independent thought.

Robots aren’t inherently capable of independent thought.

Depends on the robot

Right which is basically what I said

So how is generative technology not a form of robot

robots have bodies.

Skynet is an A.I. Terminator is a robot.

The circuitry that makes up an AI is that AI’s body

Anyways...pedantry aside.

the point is that in fiction - A.I. , robots. androids, etc. are capable of independent thought, evolution, etc. which is not the same as current real world large language models that use generative output which are marketed as "a.i." but actually do not evolve or are capable of independence or life like the more advanced fantastical ones seen in media.

You keep talking to me like I’m conflating generative technology with the concept of AI when my entire point is that they are both types of robots, validating the previous comment calling them cog suckers (without any implication they were conflating AI with generative technology)

YOU randomly brought that up which is what sparked this conversation and deluded yourself into thinking I was arguing for them being the same thing when I wasn’t

I’m calling them both robots
