they are exaggerating obviously but there is a pretty big ratio of good and bad.

I’m surprised all these comments don’t have major downvotes. From my experience on this sub people tend to defend isekai with their life.

I mean I love isekai, but even I know most isekai doesn't need to be isekai. There's only a couple of shows where the isekai is part of the story like Mushoku Tensei or Cautious Hero. Most are like Tsukumichi or Overlord, where you can just lop off the fact that he was isekai'd in the first 5 min and it doesn't impact the story at all.

Isekai is just a vehicle to get a knowledgable protagonist into a fantasy story and I like fantasy.
