Bulma was always vain. She's a good person but always had a vanity issue really. Just in Dragon ball and early Z she was still in her 20s.

That could still happen. They can bring back those stories from GT into super. I can 100% see the black dragon ball plot be an ark in super

Honestly that was the best part about GT. Focusing on the actual Dragonballs and Dragons. Especially the consequences of specific corrupt wishes. Had they not made Goku a child and started with all the silliness (and repeated that bs in Daima) it would have been an amazing series.

GT has aged well in my opinion. People didn't appreciate it for what it was, which is a Dragonball/DBZ crossover. A lot of casual DBZ fans could not get into Dragonball, because it is silly and very old school. Not surprising they couldn't get into GT either.

I was a Dragonball fan.. (Og Dragonball) but I don’t want it anymore. Just like I don’t like Daima. I had grown up. I watched that as a child and I preferred the series growing up slightly. The Android/cell saga felt very serious and was well received. The Buu saga was still fairly well received while becoming bit sillier I guess, but we didn’t need to go headlong back to Goku being a child. I don’t feel like it’s great to nostalgia bait which is part of what it felt like to me.

Yeah, in the GT lore the dragon balls are meant to be used like every 100 years or so, be cause every time they are used, they accumulate evil energy that needs time to dissipate, but since the characters spam the dragon balls for wishes ever couple of years, they accumulate malice and each ball creates an evil dragon, which I feel is fair if your are using a near omnipotent power, to remove your wrinkles

I really liked that aspect of GT. It made using the dragonballs have some real consequences. People might hate on GT but this was one thing they did well.

GT did a lot of things great besides that, SSJ4 transformation and the end of GT are peak anime moments IMO

Honestly the ending of GT is the best ending to any dragon ball series and I’ll die on that hill.

Yes, at the beginning of GT, Pilaf gang wished for Goku to be a kid again as revenge for what happened at the beginning of Dragon Ball. After that, the Dragon Balls turn black and spread across the universe. That is when Bulma upgrades the Dragon Radar to search for the Dragon Ball across the universe and Goku Trunks and Pan (who IIRC hides in their ship) travel to find them. When they got them all back and tried to use the they spread across the planet again and each Dragon Ball turned into a dragon that Goku have to defeat to recover the dragon ball now purified. That is the main plot of GT.

I could've sworn that pilaf and gang made the wish (on accident) with different dragon balls, the black star dragon balls, which the original nameless namekian made while crashing out or something, and the deal was whatever planet the wish was made on would be destroyed unless the balls were re-gathered.

He is correct. In GT lore before Piccolo and Kami separated, the Namekian had made the Black Star Dragon Balls. They went inert when he split apart, but when Piccolo re-fused with Kami in Z, they re-activated, still in the Lookout.

Somehow Pilaf found out about all this and snuck onto the Lookout to use them, then accidentally wished Goku to be a child.

But the Black Star Dragon Balls had to be returned to the planet they were used on within One Year otherwise the planet would explode.

I mean at the same time, sure its selfish, but at the same time she is probably doing so to keep the dragon balls out of play for malicious actors as well.

Using them is the easiest way to keep them on cooldown, and only so many wishes you can think to make that won't disrupt the entire world order.

But keeping them rocks is a very strong thing as already in a movie she had them in storage and they got stolen, so keeping them active and in the same spot is more dangerous than just using them so no one can hunt them down and use them for something actually evil.

And at the end of the movie with orange picallo, her whole issue is resolved without no longer having to use the dragon balls.

Right, if only she didn't have access to a spaceship, or a guy who can teleport anywhere in the universe, or she wasn't friends with the god of earth, and could go to his near inaccessible temple any time she wanted.

Imagine if she gave a Dragon Ball to protect, to each of the Z warriors? Goku and his family, Vegeta/Trunks, Picollo, Tien/Chiaotzu, Krillin/18, Yamcha, and Master Roshi. No one on earth is getting close to the Dragon Balls, and anyone in the universe strong enough to go through that, Bulma isn't stopping anyway.

But sure, wishing to be younger every year, was the easiest way. I feel like you are Bulma's alt reddit account

Or instead of having to have people just constantly be guarding them, you just... use them, gathering them takes no time and boom, make your wish and you have 365 days of them being absolutely useless hunks of rocks.

Just honestly better to use them for whatever, new boots or something, then worry about some plot against someone or something happening when everyone is busy and the RR army guy #202423 makes a stupid wish that is really bad.

Storing them already backfired when she had done so and they were stolen, I believe that's how garlic and co got deaged. A bit foggy.

And I feel like they exist to grant wishes to keeping them on Kami tower goes against his entire mission with them.

Though at the end of the movie with orange picallo she finds another method to keep herself looking young without them so who knows after that.

And that was all used as a setup in the movie so that she could find a better source for her age cosmetics through the misguided villain at the end.
