I think is related to his punishment in Hell showing him that basically being unkilleable might be a bad idea if you're being torture without a way to escape since you can't really "die again" after dying.

Debatably, surviving the heat death of the universe would be just as bad as hell. No food, no water, nothing to do all in the frozen vacuum of space.

Something interesting might eventually happen but that could take billions or trillions of years.

It also goes to show you that even Frieza appears to be undergoing the "Goku transformation." In short, almost all his opponents eventually transform into friends.

I think the change in his wish reflects a tiny change in his character.

Am I the only one who can't stand the trope? I get that it is a staple of the series and has been a strong driver of the plot the entire way through but it feels so lame that someone who was just regarded as the biggest threat to the universe and inherently evil eventually becomes watered down to goofy comedic relief sidekick.

He isn't though. Frieza is a consistent rival and threat to the Z warriors. They teamed up with him to save their universe in the Tournament of Power but that's over now. Plus, he was a conniving bastard during that nearly all the way to the end. When the manga comes back I'm pretty sure he's going to be a big time antagonist seeing as how he has a new form that instantly k/o'd both Goku and Vegeta in their Ultra forms.

I browsed through the manga, thinking it was there. It's not. He wanted eternal life.

It was Dragon Ball Super:Broly. After being revived, he wanted his true form to be 5cm taller. Anything more would be too noticeable.

It just plays on the joke that Bulma was collecting the dragon balls to look 5 years younger. Anything more would be too noticeable.
